The Explain Why You Like This Album ('cause i don't understand) Thread

The vocals aren't necessarily good, just the unconventional structures of the songs corabined with pop elements.. First listen I was like meh. Apart from 3 songs, then I just started to appreciate it as a piece of work. I found it a bit dull at first, until I started finding tracks I liked. Are there no tracks where you think that's a good song?

Yeah, I was gonna' go there, but I got distracted.
adding to your point. To say that the clash had no influence on today's music and then to contrast that statement by saying that The Stooges had a more of an influence then The Clash is just poo. Good ol' curbside variety unadulterated poo.

This is the first album I have ever bought from them. I bought it mainly after hearing Anna Molly which I loved but yeah it wasn't a good purchase. I should of downloaded some of their other albums. When it comes to Incubus I have only listened to their singles. I have never listened to a full album of theirs until I bought Light Grenades.

Or really any QOTSA album for that matter.

Drugs or no drugs RABOTM is a cracking album. It was probably the album which taught me what a complete album was, and what could be achieved with an album as a whole. It really does sound incredible on drugs though haha, during my last year of secondary school my frienRAB and i used to sit in a dark room, smoke joints and listen to this.

I like it. For me it kind of captures the feel of that time as I imagine it was like. That psychedelic out of your mind sound. Nico's low dreamy voice. Hm, I feel like smoking right now...

I think the first half of the album is great, 5 tracks of pure brilliance, but the second half doesn't interest me at all. RATM are an example of a band that i find good in small doses, but i don't know how people can listen to them nearly everyday.
