I mean, I got bored so turned my laptop on and between me and the telly was my laptop, so from the TV's perceptive, i was behind my laptop.

Just watched episodes 1-3 and think it is great. I have never seen Heroes, Lost or some of the other programmes mentioned here so maybe that is a bonus.

what i think is happening. Is not a spoiler as it is my take on what has been shown.
Vice president and the presidents right hand man (the wiry chap) arranged the assasination. The girl vicky is from a shadowy govt force and they arranged for the kidnap of the girl so that her father can be made to fly the plane (roundabout way of assasinating a president), Reason for killing the pres.. He was going to announce the presence of the aleins to the world.
The aliens get the hang of the plot. So they arrange for the boyfriend to scupper it. tell him whats happening and give him a gun and get him on the plane to thwart it.When he is on the plane they (the chap who has been made head of investigation) also try to alert the authorities to the plane. Does not work so at the last moment they make the plane disappear.
The aleins also have a disgruntled member in their ranks who they kill off.

Simple as that! I watched behind my laptop too. Forgot all about it but switched to c4 plus 1.
