The Event channel4 9pm friday

Having seen the first 5 epsodes I would say no. It moves the story on week by week actually giving bits of information rather than constantly adding never to be answered questions.

I'm watching this against every inclination having lost interest round about the 2nd half of Season 1 of Lost!!! I'm hoping it's not as futile and long running as so many US dramas but it does look like a mix of Lost, Jericho, Flash Forward etc etc.....

Brother? How did I miss that?

I'll be watching it next week, just to give it another go.:D

edit - Brother as in the same species, possibly.

For a drama with lots of complex, inter-temporal, inter-spacial plot lines it is a big fail. For the simple reason the audio is of such a poor quality that it is difficult to understand half of what is being said. :(

You are not taking account that the first 2 episodes had a disjointed timeline with many gaps. We don't know who tried (in a completely unbelievable way post 9/11) to kill the Pres, or what their exact motives are. That is part of why they structured the series, to keep us hanging on.
It's too early to come to any conclusions, as we don't have enough info. Whether all our questions will be answered is another matter eg will the journalist who has an exclusive on the President's announcement start asking questions.

Also you could watch it on 4OD wnere there are two advert breaks, and from my knowledge each break contains three 30 second adverts. Far less than watching live.

Scary looking bald bloke with an agenda against 'special people' like in Heroes - Check
Flash backs like in Lost - Check
Massive conspiracy like in Flashforward - Check
Aliens among us like in Invasion - Check

This was American Science Fiction TV by numbers. That said, I'll carry on watching it hoping it improves, but it still looks like it was made to be like other shows rather than a special event series in its own right.

You're right

The whole business of moving from NBC to TNT meant on More4 we got 1 1/2 seasons and no idea when it will be back...

It is strange how some people can get quite far in life, chronologically, without realizing that ANY new story involves rearranging elements that have been used before into a new combination. To use a cooking analogy, a new dish, or recipe, does not require ingredients that have heretofore been undiscovered or at least unused for human consumption. Aliens, conspiracies, flashbacks -- am I to believe there is some body of NON-American science fiction work to which these things are foreign?

I know. I'm fed up with getting excited and engrossed with a series only to get totally bored when it never amounts to anything. Hope this makes more sense than Lost though.
If only they didn't go forwarRAB and back in time every 2 seconRAB. Are they worried we might get bored - or notice that there isn't really a story??

Enjoyed this. Must be in the minority because the moving forward and back through the storyline didn't bother me at all.

Didn't find it to be like Lost- more along the lines of Jericho.

LOL!!!!
I think the pool scene was '5 years ago' - how they met? Could easily be wrong though. I keep feeling I must have taken some dodgy drugs and having nightmares.

No me too. Never liked how he always knew who done it without a shred of evidence and then the whole episode was based around him proving it. Hardly good detection.

I did love it though when Peter Falk and the character turned up in Wings of Desire.

On topic, how quick did Sean get dressed when the cops arrived at the hospital.
