The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

First, the gory Serpentine video and, now, an out-of-tune cover? I take it the Swiss broadcaster hasn't actually checked any of these videos before allowing them onto their site. They *might* want to revisit that decision.

You'd think that someone like Paul O'Grady would like eurovision. How wrong we are.

I get the feeling that he is somebody who instantly criticises the contest without even bothering to watch the show or listen to the songs. Oh well.

Have you got a link to the bit about the EBU rule chance and Liechtenstein? EDIT: Oh wait, I've found it. The rule change is that a broadcaster whose EBU application is pending would be able to apply to take part in Eurovision. I'm guessing that if their EBU application was turned down they wouldn't actually be able to take part in Eurovision and might even lose their participation fee? This means that Hungary's Duna TV could potentially still take part.

Also someone on ESC Forum has allegedly got a reply from the Slovenian broadcaster saying that both EMA and their participation will go ahead.

That 3JS song is a little better than there other songs which all appear to be utter dross. I totally agree with what you're saying about the Dutch language in music. I can't stand it, it was certainly never made to be sung!

I must admit, I struggle to enjoy any popular Dutch music, a lot of it is extremely dated. The popularity of De Toppers, 3JS and of course that dire number one of Sineke come to mind.

I also wanted to subit this song .

Excellent choice, and asgain better than her ESC entry. First heard it at the Euroclub in Moscow last year, and it was just fantatsic...

Sealion has done me wrong in the past, and I find it difficult to forgive her

Many moons ago, I appeared on Ken Bruce's Popmaster Quiz on Radio 2 ( :o ) and beat my hapless opponent to reach the "Three in 10" round (for the uninitiated, you have 10 seconRAB to name three chart entries by a particular act)

I had been flying along in the quiz until I was right royally scuppered by Celine - I think i mumbled "that Titanic song" before my time ran out .....the only thing in my head was Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi, but I didn't think that had charted
