The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

Czech 2008 is appalling! Funny thing is, in it's first incarnation (if you never heard it live on NF's) it wasn't too bad, then they tinkered with it, and tinkered again - and it ended up with a backing track that was sooooo horendous, that it didn't matter what tune she was singing (and she certainly didn't just stick to one tune by the sound of it) it wouldn't fit

Bit like De Toppers - loved the first version of it, but the stoopid backing track was awful by the night itself :(

Maria HS with that song was a consideration of mine for this competition so I knew I'd be giving it generous points.

I've sent my entry for Round 2 of the Worst...are we allowed to pick our Balkan entry early too (to avoid disappointment!) I have a shortlist of 7 so far.

I agree Chickens although it could be held as part of another international "Fell at the first hurdle" competition. I was convinced Neo was your choice, I'm surprised it didn't do better. For me it was the performance which let down your song, she seemed to be off-key throughout......unless it was deliberate.

Congratulations to gottago (again), a surprise winner I think and thanks to Chris for a fascinating competition and introducing the twist.

Ew, can you imagine if Peter Andre represented Cyprus one year and the UK gave him 12

I'm really looking forward to the revealing of the entries - I want to see what I'm up against! And I (hopefully) can't do worse than I did last time! My artist/s hail from an ESC country that could severely do with a decent, contemporary entry. When I first heard this song about a year ago, I actually thought it would be perfect for Eurovision. I have a feeling it'll be a high rider or bomb completely but I can never listen to this song just once and I think it has that essential quick catch to it that's perfect for this kind of thing!
