The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

I eventually found something, it's just that it was under a stone.

I must admit I prefer early Balkan to late Balkan when it all became a bit ethno-worthy even though for the first 30 years Yugoslavia were like the country cousins of Eurovision, always welcome but glad when they left early.
 
2nd place is still more than I could have imagined - and it's a placing to try and better now in future contests! It was just as fun coming 2nd and at least I won for a little while!

Blimey, SVT have revealed that their JESC contestant is some girl and her song is written by none other than G:son and Arash! It won't be heard for a few more weeks yet but this could well end up being something we'd rather hear at Melfest!
 
Woohoo! You'll have to break out your wind machine, glowsticks and multi-coloured balloons for the big night. :p

Have you got Eurovision week off? You can't miss that. :eek:
 
i've had an idea.. about making the next round more eurovisionary..

anyone interested in taking part senRAB a pm to our dear leader for registration.. a draw will then take place.. our dear leader will announce the name on here, that will also determine the running order.. at the same time.. the dear deputy-leader will conduct a draw to determine the country each contestant gets.. you then have a day.. or two.. or three to research the song for your allocated country.. with a view to picking a song you think no one will have ever heard of before which, in your opinion, could win the unknown song contest 2010..
 
That caught me by surprise as well. I can't work out if that makes it easier to score them (because hearing most of the songs for the first time puts them on a level playing field) or harder (because I can't simply pluck my favourites out of a list I'm familiar with).
 
I'm going to miss the results. I have to go to a meal that I really don't want to. How dare real life interfere with Balkan appreciation. To add insult to injury, none of the people there will know what or where the Balkans even are!

I'm going with gut instinct for the next comp though. Then that'll just leave me with 14 songs to choose from for the next round!
