The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

I thought My Time and thms was a banker. Your one's a bit of a shocker, 1989 was one of the good years, I think you'd have got more votes (or less votes ) picking "Rock Me".

just watching the spectacular and impressive opening ceremony from the delhi commonwealth games, and while i am excited about glasgow in 2014.. i wonder how scotland's (and glasgow's?) culture will be portrayed during the opening ceremony.. i can picture lulu starting it off with.. you know you want to make me shout and finishing it with boom bang-a-bang.. but how will we fill the bit in the middle?

For ages I've wanted to rank all the songs from the Noughties decade (2000-2009). I finally got found to it (using the most complicated method possible!) and have a complete list from 1 to 336. I've decided to have a Top 100 countdown on my Eurovision blog (which I hardly use anyway). It's been really interesting to see the results and i've found some years and countries have done far better or worse than I'd expected. Anyway, for anyone with a spare bit of time, i'd definitely suggest giving it a go. :)

Good question and I'll take the credit for Rongedal :D I remember mentioning Hall Om Mig, but I won't have been the first with that...

I think, like mouldy, it's gotta be Martina, she's our mascot - but failing that .erm.....

Well, thanks to Kargo for bringing Tose Proeski to me a couple of years ago

And to Drew Peacock more recently for "Do You Believe In Love At First Sight" by Polly Brown :D

I don't think my current choice is well known, I think my first would've been but it was a cover which I didn't think would be the sporting choice. Now my third is totally different and I don't know what to do

If I choose my 3rd choice I'm not you-tubing again until after the deadline ;)

I suspect a lot of us will be trying for at least two fairly recent ones - anyway, even if my top three have been chosen I've got a long list of others which I'd be happy to nominate without going for Bebi Doll, I'm surprised just how many Yugoslav and ex Yugoslav songs o are on my favourites list.

I'm the same. Since the idea was mooted I've been keeping a keen ear out to songs on the radio and am forever thinking to myself "ooh, that would be a good one for the poll". I've even been looking at my CD collection trying to pick songs from artists that I think would make good entries. And right now I've got a certain artists video playlist going on Youtube working my way through the back catalogue trying to whittle down the song choices. Sheesh, I'll be glad when we are finally forced to make a choice and stick with it!:D

This is definitely a contest that could run for semis before a grand final. I'm set on what song I'm choosing first but I know that there's so many others I could go for.

In regarRAB to X Factor giving noRAB to ESC, my Dad while commenting about the length of the programme last night said, "how long's left of this? It's like the Eurovision Song Contest!"

X Factor was pretty rubbish though.

Ok just came back from a night out and I am furious. My Delta song finished in 16th!!! I genuinely thought I had a chance if victory.

Oh and I tried to pick Vanessa Amorosi with Heroes Live Forever but Jacobabe pinched it. It done so well as well. Interesting to see that it gained 6 top marks

Oh and thanks Gottago and Marakkech for the 12 points:)

Don't speak too soon!

Although to be fair I am struggling to actually think of anything that isn't ESC related that's on my iPod. I really will be clutching at straws if I can't even use an NF artist's song!
