The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

You'd have got votes from me for either of these, Francoise Hardy along with France Gall, Sylvie Vartan and Sheila are classic examples of the 60s young French chanteuse.

It was written by France Gall's husband Michel Berger as a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, not that you could tell from Kate's version and certainly not from the Scooch style video. I see she's also emasculated another France Gall classic, Babacar.

Catching up.

Oh no, of all the Nanne songs this deserved it's placing. I'm feeling smug in that the two songs which came bottom of the list were the ones I didn't vote for.

I gave yours 12 despite not only sounding like Mika he looked like him as well. :p;)

Unless you speak Swedish, you just appreciate the great tune and the ingenious performance however if it had limp lyrics like "I love Europe" then it would have sailed "till Globen". I'm sure it was touched on in here at the time because there was controversy in the Swedish press asking for the song to be withdrawn when it's subject matter was known but before it was even heard.

It is however easily the most viewed ever MF performance on youtube, thanks to the Japanese and the contrivance of the first 3 worRAB "ah Nar ni" deliberately sounding like "onani". :o:D

That's good news. I only liked one 1 song in Eesti Laul 2010 so hopefully there will be better songs for next year. It's a very well produced show.

I suppose it makes sense to expand Eesti Laul seeing as it is the most popular show on Estonian TV. :)
