The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

OK, it's getting a bit freaky now - after having complained that I never hear ESC songs in real life, I was half-watching Sky 247 (Home channel or something dire like that) they had a trailer for a "new" series of Escape to the Country, with the backing track being "Do You Believe In Love At First Sight" by Polly Brown (recently chosen by Drew for our Best of NF Contest) Spooky!

My choice is so obvious though! Good if we go back to revealing who has picked what... not so good otherwise! Plus I've got a feeling someone probably has my second stroke... and if this particular artists isn't in the comp I'll be very surprised!

So... lets reveal who has chosen what in this contest for the benefit of ME :D And yeah... I agree we should go back to a Sunday night final... it's the highlight of my week!

I agree that Bishop and Smith are no great loss, but I personally was seriously underwhelmed by Jade and I'm completely convinced that it was the Lloyd-Webber effect, publicity (and probably some finance) that got the result, I mean Daine Warren's "lyrics" came across as something she'd probably jotted down on the back of a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class sick bag on the flight over.

Unfortunately, I don't think the BBC will react to criticism, they are seemingly oblivious to comments, and will see it as obsessive fan whining whilst their true market is the middle-aged viewer who tunes in on Saturday night to laugh at the voting and rake in the scheckels on the phone vote (and apparently, every year the largest UK televote is for the UK despite the great British public (oxymoron) being told they can't vote for the UK...). It's a cheap way of filling two evenings on el cheapo BBC3 and a very good value tv spectacular to fill a Saturday night in May on BBC1 between some dancing programmes and the summer "let's give up the fight until September" schedule.

There again I'm an arch cynic, despite that I hope your optimism is right

I find it strange how he can be so against MF, it is afterall the biggest TV show in Scandinavia and one of the biggest in Europe with most of the entries becoming chart hits in Sweden.

Oh well, his loss. :p

It's results day guys! :p

Out of those who have entries in the contest, I've received votes from all but 1 of them. The results are really close at the top and this last set of votes could change everything.
