The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

My 12 pointer won/lost (:confused:) and my 10 pointer was runner-up. My song may have got nul points, but i'm not totally off the boil taste wise. :p

Thanks NightFox! I thought that was thoroughly depressing, but in the best sort of way. :D
 
I wondered why when I tried to post a reply, I was getting a thread closed message.

At this point, I feel this is appropriate:

There are some "Recap" videos available for their NF's 2000-2004 - and the sheer bonkerness of some of the entries is just mind blowing ... they definitely went the right way this year with a star for oslo

I think I've found my artist for next week though, on a featured video (thanks sidebar!) - awesome! I need to step up my game ....
 
I don't think "What Car?" is a particularly bad song but Cliff is completely the wrong performer for it. There's something quite disconcerting about an ancient, withered man singing about the American teen experience.
 
I'm really glad we're doing this competition - it's made me realise how many great songs the Balkans have contributed to Eurovision since Yugoslavia's break-up. Could you imagine how strong a Eurovision country Yugoslavia would be if they only had one entry (i.e. if there was a NF between the Balkan states) and they competed with that?

Also, I love the way that even if a song is musically very upbeat, if the lyrics are in a Balkan language, it instantly sounRAB bleak and earnest. Totally my kinda thing! :D
