The Descent --- Am I the only one who think it is BRILLIANT?!

i love this film.

i love the way its such a stressful watch even BEFORE the creatures show up. also the way the group all end up fighting each other

and as for the ending - i dont think its a cop out at all i think its just very, very bleak

i dont think it was really important what they were and where they came from

we know as much as the characters - much better than over explaining everything i think..

i liked the descent ...ive seen it a few times .last night was the last and the end is quite sad and .but i preffered the cave ..its miles better and i ve seen it several times on sky .i always watch it if its on as you notice different things with each viewing.i hate pot holes and heights so its scary...

I watched this last night and tbh, I love horror movies and it takes a lot for me to jump in a movie, I jumped at least 3 times in the first 40 minutes!!!!!
It's a cool movie, I was impressed. Shame the monsters looked like the thing from CREEP though!!!!

I watched it again last night too! Phewww; still loved it as much as the first time I saw it!
This time I sat down and watched it with my mum, and... my 11 year old sister! OK - my sister had to cover her eyes most of time (I regret saying the film was 'ok' for her to watch) --- but luckily she fell asleep 30 minutes before the end!

I STILL cant believe this was made in a studio?! Like - HOW?! I thought the scenes were shot in a real cave!

One of the best films i've seen!

I totally agree! I think it's a great film and it genuinely scared me, which is saying a lot. I love horror and have seen so many movies that quite a few don't have any effect on me, but this was great! The first time you see 'one of them' just stops your heart! :)

I saw it on Channel 4 the other night too. I didnt think it was very good. The characters were all 2 dimensional and incredibly stupid. Every one of them made stupid choices, that just ruins a movie for me when the whole thing hinges on everybody being an idiot.

I will say though that the scenes where they were crawling through tight spaces were very effective. It almost had me feeling like I was trapped in their with them. But that was the only positive thing I can say about the film.

i struggled to recognise who was who when they were in the cave. it was ok - but i dont think i was really scary either. the positive aspect is that at least it was different to other horrors.

I was fairly scared up to the moment where all hell broke loose with the Crawlers. After that I just relaxed - not sure why but basically the Crawlers just reminded me too much of the Creep (in "Creep"). I had not found him scary either. I did not like the way also they just put in some gratuitous "jump" moments. I liked the ending also and am glad she did not get out. Film definitely has put me off caving/potholing for the rest of my days though :D
