OMG I know. Like they were standing in the elevator and it opened, and BOOM, he's dead. I was on the edge of my couch with a jaw drop saying "WHAT?!" :bawl:

I hated when Leo's character got shot. But it was so shocking how fast it happened too! :)

BabyJ, agree that it was pretty slow at the beginning

Regarding Oscars, hoping that Martin Sheen and Mark Wahlberg picked up Best Supporting Actor nods

The 3 main guys should pick up Best Actors nods

He is! :D That was a great scene.

You know, IMO, Martin Scorsese was just plain brilliant in assembling this cast. You have the best actor ever Leonardo DiCaprio, along with great actors Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg. Those three make a great movie alone, and then add Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, AND Alec Baldwin. Yeah... the cast was just amazing.

Just got back from seeing this. What an awesome movie. It was pretty slow at the beginning, to the point that I was starting to fall asleep. Luckily the rest of the film made up for it.

Leo was amazing in this. He's really come a long way since Titanic. Same with Mark Wahlberg, especially since my lasting impression of him was from The Italian Job.

Loved the twists in the movie. Could've done without some of those Frank-as-a-pimp scenes.

The guys I saw the movie with actually thanked me for making them see the movie with me. And they all admitted that Leo was awesome in the movie.

Definitely the best I've seen so far this year and will no doubt be one of the best of the year. (Seeing The Prestige on Friday, so we'll see if The Departed ends up being my favorite film of the year.)

 Ouch. He does love New York...

Maybe it would be different for The Depated? Or maybe it's better we didn't get a commentary.

He is funny...but have you listened to the commentary on the Gangs of New York DVD? The entire time he talks about the history of New York---which is interesting for about 10 minutes and then your eyes start to glaze over.

I thought Vera was great. I don't think she was too old at all.

I agree taht she had better chemistry with Leo then Matt.

i was really shocked!
but i loved how Matt's character died.
i was shocked the most whn Leo's character died.

and you can tell other people in the theater were too.

It sucked that most of the big time actors in this movie were killed but I did like the part at the end where Matt Damon's character knew he was going to be killed by Mark Wahlberg's character.

A sequal? but everyone died? how can you make a sequal where every one is dead except from Mark and the girl?
