The Dark Knight SPOILER thread **Do NOT read if you've not seen it**

My favourite scenes, hanRAB down were all the scenes with the Joker in the nurses outfit (he looked quite fetching in the red wig lol), his corruption of two-face was extremely well done and when he was almost skipping away from the hospital as it exploded was extremely funny.

Also the first recorded message from the Joker was chilling.

Oh and when Commisioner Gordon first talked to Harvey after he'd been burnt and Harvey went "Look at me....LOOK AT ME!!!"...it made me jump lol.

That just makes Harvey's lack of animosity towarRAB the Joker even harder to understand.

For me that whole character twist didn't work. The good guy became a bad guy for no real reason.

It didn't help that the plot was, for at least a while, muddled about who had captured Harvey and Rachel. It seemed a bit much for the Joker to have done it, given all the other stuff he did, and it was implied earlier that the bent cops were in the pay of the Mafia, not the Joker. And of course the Joker denied it, and denied making plans, and it happened when he was in custody. So it seemed more like a Mafia plot, in order to derail the trial.

I loved every moment of the film, from the minute that office block window was shot-out to Gordon's voice over in the closing minute - absolutely fantastic. I'm not a bandwagon jumper, either, Heath Ledger deserves every bit of praise he receives for how he portayed The Joker, it was mesmorising, every second of his performance deserves recognition (I'd be saying this if he were alive aswell, btw).

5 out of 5. 10 out of 5! Hell, 1,000,000 out of 5! Everyone involved in that film deserves a major pat on the back.

I wonder how Tim Burton feels about the new franchise? I'd be interested to hear his views.

To be completely honest I actually like both Chris Nolan's "Batman" and Tim Burton's "Batman" equally, I just think they're both good in their own ways.

Burton's Versions for his Fantasy/Gothic and Circus style and Nolan's Version for his realistic yet even more Darker and scarier/chilling style.

But then again that's my opinion, agree to disagree:).

P.S. Now I know I've slagged off Joel Schumacher's Versions but does anyone else feel really bad for him now? I do:o.

I mean imagine what it's like with people constantly saying how good Nolan's "Batman" is and how bad his "Batman" is (espicially with the whole Harvey Dent/Two-Face thing).

Like I already said, I really don't like Joel Schumacher's "Batman" at all but I do feel really sorry for him at the same time:(:o.

I really liked the little detail that Heath Ledger kept doing as The Joker: that weird liitle lip smack/lick. Really creepy.
Everytime that he did it, I went Ughhhhhh/shiver

I got back from it earlier today, and I hope I'm not the only one that thought it was rubbish? Yes, heaths acting as joker was good, but it just went on for longer than it should and it felt the joker wasnt in it enough, I dunno, maybe I was swept in the hype of it all, what with it being numero 1 on Imdb top 250, I just left feeling dissapointed....

Well since the vast majority of the viewing public will not know about the rumoured third film, I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing there was at least some closure, otherwise you kinda feel you've wasted your time on something that just seemed, well, spectacular.....yet unfinished...

Wow first time I've heard of someone not liking the character. Personally she's one of my favourite villains because of the dynamic with Batman. Ok, that dreadful pile of pants version with Halle Berry did the character no favours, but she didn't play proper Catwoman anyway. At least the last version of Selina Kyle in Batman Returns was done well. And I think Chris Nolan and team could do a very compelling realistic version.

It wasn't at the end, it was nearer the beginning. The Joker pretenRAB to be dead and is brought into the pool room in what looks like a body bag, but is more like bin bags. He's laid out on the pool table and someone opens it up and looks at his face and he appears to be dead. Then suddenly he is 'alive' and gets up to all sorts of mischief with the pool cues.

That was a fantastic review Claire, I enjoyed reading it too. Spot on about Heath/The Joker, very well put.

Warning! My Post contains major Spoilers so please avoid my Post completely if you really don't want it to be Spoiled thank you:).

I've seen "The Dark Knight" today and I can honestly say hand on heart I LOVED it to bits:D! Film Of The Year for me personally.

Heath Ledger was brilliant as The Joker IMO so believe all the hype people (IMO), he truly is the Character you love to hate. I especially loved his little "pencil" trick:Dand Heath Fans if you're reading this let me assure you now that you guys will NOT be disappointed:). However, the one thing I don't agree with it's the whole "he carried the whole Film" because as excellent as he was he didn't do it alone, they ALL carried the Movie together with him IMO.

Christian Bale once again proved what a perfect Bruce Wayne/Batman he truly is. Despite all his faults (one of the main reasons why Batman is my favourite Superhero of all time, nobody likes a pure goody 2 shoes:p:D) his heart is in the right place. Especially liked how they've acknowledged that where ever Batman goes there comes a price where tragedy strikes somebody else one way or another.

And how can I ignore Aaron Eckhart? He was just perfect as Harvey Dent/Two-Face and I have to say this Film truly did do the character of Harvey Dent/Two-Face justice with the way they‘ve dealt with the rise and fall of his Character. The one thing that has always admired me about Harvey Dent/Two-Face is that he is such a complex/misunderstood Villain and not just an "Ooooooh I'm an uber Eval baddy out to kill you all!" type of Villain. In fact he's the type of Villain you just can't help but have sympathy for:((well, he's always has been for me anyway). As for the ending is Harvey Dent/Two-Face really dead? IMO I have a very funny feeling he's not for these reasons...

1. They never said he was dead, hell they didn't even check his pulse!

2. The Dialogue between Bruce Wayne/Batman and Gordon seemed to hint that he was still alive and needed protection for both his own sake and Gotham’s Sakes hence why Bruce Wayne/Batman was willing to take all the blame for him. After all he always did believe in Harvey Dent and Gordon doing that Memorial seemed more like he’s trying to cover Harvey Dent/Two-Face ‘s tracks so that no one will know what Harvey Dent/Two-Face’s really done whilst also keeping Harvey Dent/Two-Face hidden (Arkham Asylum Maybe?????). Plus all we ever saw was a big fat photograph, not once did they ever show a Coffin.

3. Harvey Dent/Two-Face’s Story didn’t really seem that finished, if anything this seemed more like a preparation for them to use him again in the future (well, that‘s what it felt like to me anyway).

4. Bit more of a silly reason here really, he was breathing quite heavily. OK I know we have caught “dead” Characters breathing heavily before be this was WAY too obviously heavy even for them.

5. The Joker pretty much told Batman that he has prepared Harvey Dent/Two-Face to take over from his place (again preparing them to use him again in the future).

6. Bruce Wayne/Batman would never, EVER kill someone no matter how evil they were. Hell he couldn’t even kill the bloody Joker so what on earth would process him to kill his own best friend and the one person he truly believes in to save Gotham? This would just be so out of Character for Bruce Wayne/Batman IMO.

7. Not really confirmed still rumoured but apparently the 3rd Film is to be about Harvey Dent/Two-Face. Like I said this is only a rumour at the mo so please don’t take it as fact (personally I really do hope it‘s true but I‘ll take this with a pinch of salt for now).

Personally I truly do hope he’s in the next Film, he’s shown so much potential in this Film and I think it’d be such a shame and a waste if they don’t take advantage of that IMO.

I have to say though both Harvey Dent/Two-Face and The Joker are my favourite "Batman" Villains (Harvey Dent/Two-Face for the reasons I've just mentioned and he Joker for being such a pure evil person you love to hate plus the fact that he‘s a psycho clown makes him even more scary IMO) and to see them together has made the nerdy side of me excited/happy.

And of course we have the support Characters. Gary Oldman was once again brilliant as Gordon and I especially liked how we saw a much more stronger side to his Character in this Film. Morgan Freeman once again brill and his Character had a lot more to do this time. I was a bit gutted that there was very, VERY little of Alfred in this Film though (I like Alfred:() but from what little screen time he had, Michael Caine did not disappoint.

The only thing I’m not too fond of is the Character of Rachel I’m sorry to say. Before I go any further let me just make it clear that I have nothing against Maggie Gyllenhaal in fact she seems like a really nice person to me however; not even she could save Rachel for me. I just never really warmed to Rachel and I really didn’t give 2 hoots when she died. In fact the only time when I did show SOME sympathy for her death was only because of Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent so once again thanks to the brilliant Acting from both Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart (but mostly Aaron Eckhart though). So yeah that’s my thoughts on Rachel anyway.

Also why the hell was Scarecrow only in this Film for 5 minutes in the beginning getting caught by Batman? He might as well have not been here at all IMO (but that’s just a minor problem).

So all in all a truly brilliant Film and definitely Movie Of The Year for me. 10/10 from me:cool:.

You know I loved this so much I’m going to watch this again:D!

Whew! What an awfully long Post!

The last 30minutes with the Joker were boring. Lots of superhero movies have a great start, middle and then lose it when they feel the need to do the obligatory fight sequence in the end. I was far more interested in the Two Face stuff.

I don't feel sorry for him, he was leading the creative decisions that screwed it up. Ok, the studio wanted a lighter version after the first two Burton films. Batman Forever was ok, but it really looks bad next to TDK. But there is no excuse for Batman and Robin. It was almost like he couldn't be bothered. I really couldn't believe what I was watching.

Indeed. It wasn't just that detail for me, though. Like when he turned up at the Mob's meeting and someone said "You're crazy!" to him and he said "I'm not. I am not." It's just the way he say's it that's very chilling. Also in the very first seconRAB of him crashing the Wayne Party, there is a noise in the background (a tray of drinks falls to the floor I think) and he looks over towarRAB where the noise came from and immediately dismisses it and carries on talking. In fact, that whole scene was brilliant with his "I'm looking for Harvey Dent" speech.
