The Crazies

Was released in the UK cinemas today, and I'm planning on seeing it with my brother tomorrow. It's another remake-type film but this looks very promising from the trailers I've seen. Anyone else planning on seeing it/interested in it?

I've got a very busy few days at the cinema. Today I saw Percy Jackson.

I've got the crazies down to watch tomorrow and straight after Leap year. Then Sunday Extraordinary measures before finishing off on Monday with From Paris with Love.

I do worry that the only good thing about the crazies is what we have already seen in the trailers though.

By far one of the best horror/surviving flicks ever.
The Crazies remake was a fun film. It had the tension, the violence, subtle social commentary regarding how the politics in America work, and it was a fun thrill ride.

8/10

I found it to be a bit predictable and average. Basically seen it all before and done better. Maybe I watch too many of these sort of films but the jump scares were so obvious.

they didnt get sick because

i dont thikn they drank from the infected water which started at rory place. and the girl that got hung in the car wash was not sick either

i actually enjoed the film..... dont thinkt here are many original ideas in any filmsany more was a thrill of a ride

the ending twist was maybe abit much that the next town they got to would be destroyed nut it was very good. would have liked to see a happy ever after though:(

I thought the film was very very boring, quite rushed and nothing exciting happened. I felt nothing for the characters, except I hated the stupid whiny wife

Yeh i know that but how?!?!? If the whole town got sick then how come out of EVERYONE it was just them two.

It could have been explained a lot better thats all

It was ok but I wouldn't call it scary or tense exactly.
Because it was pretty obvious that Timothey Oliphant and Radha Mitchell would be alive at the end so nothing could happen to them. They were both usually saved by a Crazy getting a bullet in the head just as they were about to be killed. Even a nuclear bomb couldn't kill them.

My friend saw this last night and said it was very scary and full of tension but well worth seeing. She mentioned that the car wash scene in particular was hide behind the cushion time.

Oh god, The Happening...i try to forget i ever wasted life watching that lol.

Yeh i think maybe they thought it was explained:

they mention that Rory's house is the first to get the contaminated water...maybe a hint that the water never reached their house, but there's no reference to it. Also the sheriff and doctor's stations were along the main street were it appeared everyone had gotten sick, the deputy got sick. I dunno, really wish they'd explained that better

but

not everyone got sick in the town...some got sick and most got murdered by those who where sick or murdered by the army. overall - it was a rather pleasent experience.

i thought it was an okay movie - and much better then expected.

I wasn't scared or tense even once. The reason kramer posted above is pretty much exactly why. Also, other than a couple of jump moments, nothing scary actually happened.

mmm, yeh i guess though

i think my confusion comes from the fact that everyone died.

Yeh i thought it was an alright film, not the worst i've seen but to be honest i had my eyes covered for a good part of it lol.
