I loved this movie, it's one of those that as much as you'd like to see what happens, it's better left without answers/ sequel. besides it far too late now.

They're not even a whisper of how they used to be.

I know there's a documentary called "Don't You Forget About Me" but it was made before he passed away. My DVR is set to record it this week and I can't wait to see it. I hope it's good!

I don't know if there's an entire movie I can do that with, but one does come close.

This is one of the best movies. I loved it! Thanks to my sister who was a fan of Molly Ringwald movies, I got to see this one. Seriously one of the best movies ever

ITA! The Breakfast Club is timeless. Teen movies are just not like used to be... None of the new films really come close.

I heard they made a documentary about John Hughes when he passed away. Haven't seen it yet though. I hope it does him justice. Like you said, he was a genius.

Exactly! There's rarely anyone who does a reference even, justice.....and some are parodies, which I don't care for.

It's so sad and discouraging that movies like this can't be made today. John Hughes was a genius when it came to this Brat Pack genre, but the 90's produced quite a few decent offerings in the same vein; now everything is so lacking.

I was feeling nostalgic for these earnest teenagers (and the actors who portrayed them) who were all a little bit of everything (like the letter mentioned). For that and many other reasons, this movie will keep getting better and better as the years pass.

Basically, that's what I got from it, too. Bender knew that Claire's parents would flip if she dated the school delinquent; he told her as a way to give her an added incentive to make out with him, since he could tell she kinda liked him.

The characters really are great.

I have a really random question. I didn't quite get Bender's line to Claire when she comes to him in the closet- "You said that your parents use you to get back at each other. Wouldn't I be great in that capacity?" What did he mean? That she should use him (by dating him) to get back at her parents? Thanks for the help!

Anyways, I adore this movie. I love how the characters are so easy to relate to, and they're all complex and layered :)

i know every single line to this movie from start to finish! dont believe me? try me. :)

^I know, everywhere you go there's some spoof of this movie. Sometimes I take it as a compliment, like this movie is so widely known that others would definitely want to redo it. And other times it makes me want to smack the person whoever thought they could pull it off.

I love this movie too! :) Bender♥
"What is he going to do now?"
"Drop dead, I hope."

I love that! :)
