The Boat That Rocked.

I'm not that keen on films myself.

But I do love Radio + Music.

I noticed the film The Boat That Rocked was Released on DVD Today.

So I'm wondering if anyone has seen it, and is it worth getting.

I like the movie, and got it on DVD today myself. It's not 100% accurate storyline wise. But a lot of what happened really did happen in the pirate days.

But, its a great movie, soundtrack is awesome, and had some great lines throughout.

I saw it at the cinema and thought it was good. I didn't understand all the bad reviews. Different views I guess. I watched it because I'm a huge music fan. :D

Well worth it. Not necessarily for the extras (about 40 minutes deleted scenes and commentary) but becuase it's a bloody awesome film.

Music, comedy, and a lesson in radio history on an anorak-esque level. Perfect! Soundtrack is brilliant too! If anything I'm a little bit obsessed!

the film is very slow to get going. for about the first 45 minutes i was thinking about turning it off. but by the end it's great, heart worming, and funny. regular richard curtis

It's not a film about pirate radio, it's a comedy set on a pirate radio ship, and that meant some anoraks got annoyed that it wasn't factual enough. As long as you don't expect it to be historically accurate it's not a bad film; some of the performances are very good and the music is great (although not what a real pirate would have played).

Not a bad movie, but a bit of a silly ending when the ship sinks and everyone survives except one...or so they think.. and then he miraculously shoots out of the water.

Edit: Oops! :D

The strange thing is I've seen the film twice now and still got all scared that the Count had drowned, even though I know the ending!

Anyway, I think we've given too much away already.
