Ok, here i want everyone to post what they think the best film ever is and ill keep a leaderboard of votes so that we can find 'THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME' (well according to the people of RAB anyway)

Ill start off with: Rocky

for me it's Zoolander
I've never laughed so much as when I watch that movie

I love pop culture references, dumb comedy and David Bowie
all my favourite comedy actors are in it and they all give their best performances in it
I've watched it about 200 times and it's still fresh

FARGO is the only film I'd call perfect. The dialogue, the score, the casting, the performances... it's just perfect, and a film only the Coen brothers could have made.

First saw this in the old Brixton Ritzy when they had all night through to the morning 'theme nights' (the theme was psychedelic drug trip films, or something like that!!)

Anywho, I can't remember the films I saw :o but Apocalypse Now was the last film shown. F***!! What a mind trip!

Narrowing it down to just a few is hard enough, to one is nigh on impossible.

But to name a few

Amelie
Memento
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Butterfly Effect
Green Mile
Its A Wonderful Life
Constantine - sorry but I love it! :o
Blade Runner

No one's said this so far, but it probably IS the best film ever made:
Citizen Kane.

Other contenders as far as I'm concerned would be

Cassablanca
Jaws
Naked Lunch
Mulholland Drive
Once Upon a Time in the West
Rear Window
Mon Oncle

It really depenRAB on what you mean by "best movie of all time" - there are some others that are favourites of mine but I wouldn't class them as great movies.

I always find this a difficult question to answer , even as a huge film fan. Barry Norman used to answer this question by saying "I dont know. It hasnt been made yet!" Personally I could name a favourite film in a given genre. For instance my favourite horror film is Carrie, favourite war film is Where Eagles Dare and favourite disney cartoon is Jungle Book. I love the James Bond films and these are probably my favourite film series ever but to pinpoint one film as the favourite film ever is impossible.

I have many, many favourite films, from all over the world, including brilliant French films I saw on TV in the '60s and '70s and don't even know the titles of, classics like Casablanca, horror like The Wicker Man, British masterpieces like The Entertainer, comedy like Duck Soup.

However, there is one outstanding film that I've seen once, never want to see again, in case it disappoints me on second viewing (I doubt it but don't want to risk it) and one that I hold in very high regard. I'm not saying it was better than any other film made, as there are so many, but it was the one that affected me most.

The Green Mile.
