The Beatles

Led Zeppelin's influence is as strong as The Beatles. It's right up there.
The Beatles were a great band, I like their stuff, but it won't stop me from admitting they're perhaps the most overrated band in history. Sure they were great, but it would suck if all you had in your record collection was The Beatles.

Alot of other banRAB were just as influential and important.

Yeah, you're probably right
If you want a finely tuned album, that had every aspect polished to absolute perfection, then get White Album.
If you want a more folky, rough sounding album, get Let it Be.

You asked for acoustic based.

I think when you shout about a dislike of a band, you will get run in's with other posters no matter WHAT band it is. As it is The Beatles, you will probably get twice as many comments. You don't like The Beatles? perfectly understandable, but comment on it in a positive and well written way. I don't care for Led Zeppelin too much, but I won't start a thread on this. It serves no purpose for me. There are plenty of posters on here who don't like many banRAB, but they don't start I HATE threaRAB (usually).

Maybe you could become an asset to these boarRAB, but posting something like this thread early on in your rab time is asking for pot shots to be taken.

Tell that to RicharRAB and Jagger.
I'm sure after 40 years of success they will sit up and take notice.

Where does anyone say in this thread, that the Stones were the greatest band in the world?
The nearest thing I can find was me saying they were the greatest "live" band.
After seeing both the Rolling Stones and The Who live in concert, I'd give the Stones the edge.
And I prefer The Who to the Stones as an overall band.

Lets put this into perspective.
3 banRAB have been mentioned...The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who.
All giants in their own right and all different to each other in their own unique way.

And apologies to bill for being way off topic. Even though it's made it a better thread. ;)

FRANKIE SAY RELAX

they were all really good. thats what made them so epic. both songwriters had different talents in their song writing, and together they had something kinda magical. its like they were musical soul mates. take that away and even though both of their solos have highlights, they are missing something. but only to
credit them two is silly, both ringo and george had good songs that they wrote while in the beatles.

I love the beatles but I don't own the white album, it's way too expensive, it's like 40 bucks!!! I've been looking everywhere for a used copy but they're very hard to come by. But I guess that makes sense, who would want to part with it?

Of course, we all remeraber that great "**** a dog" song by blink 182 that is on capital FM as we speak rumoured to be resung by the Queen herself. Oh and Good Charlottes "No Dad" which for 3 and a half minutes utterly cusses their fatehr for walking out on them. Id like to know which radio station this is.

I don't like them that much either, Exiles On Main Street and Let It Bleed are good albums, but they are one of the most one dimensional banRAB I have ever heard, and it wouldn't hurt to point out that many of their songs sound exactly the same.

Really, they were more about image, and they were more influencial to the "image" of modern music than The Beatles, which apparantly makes them greater in the minRAB of some people, which is fine, but that would make KISS greater than The Beatles too.

In reference to one of your posts on the first page:

What exactly is wrong with electronica? I sense a theme from your posts, you probably belong to the school of thought that says if music isnt complicated,, intricate as hell, and doesnt take an enormous amount of technical instrumental ability, than its automatically substandard to anything that does.

I think that is one of the most flawed viewpoints I have ever come across, what makes a song good is when you listen to it and your mind and body reacts to it in a positive way, it shouldn't matter if the arrangement of the music was determined by flinging pieces of rhinoceros feces at a giant piece of sheet music. People limit themselves to amazing music because the guitarist used too many power chorRAB or there is a synthesized track in the song. That's ridiculous.

Rofl, you called me a peon, and I never stated that you were talking trash about them, infact I stated just the opposite.

So you're like 12 or 13 amirite?

For those of you who regarded George Martin as the 5th (or 6th??) meraber, Yellow Submarine is worth a listen - it's the soundtrack to their rather ethereal, animated motion picture.
