The Beatles

I definitely disagree that Lennon had more hits, though I agree that to argue over who was more important is a waste of time. Both have millions of devoted fans who think their man is the best, and nothing is going to change their minRAB.

You are truly foolish. Your claim that two people cannot contribute to a final melody is utter trash and you clearly have no clue what the hell you're talking about. Also, it's not just about the melody - there's also the chorRAB, the song structure, the instrumental arrangements, etc.. With regard to the chorRAB, the interview EXPLICITLY describes Paul coming up with ideas. He was as much a part of the process as John. Moreover, the whole "Lennon/McCartney" thing started for a reason. Originally, they actually DID write the songs in a true partnership - "played into each other's noses", as Lennon said. The partnership only really ended well after Beatlemania had begun. Your claims are just absolute garbage.

You can continue dreaming that John Lennon wrote those major early hits himself. But you're ignoring the facts and EVEN what Lennon said himself in countless damn interviews.

Hard to choose between 3.

The White Album/Revolver and Rubber Soul.
The only reason being because I have favourite songs off all 3.
Now if they were all put together on one...I'd find this easier.

I can't choose.

errrrrmmmmmm...Revolver.

EDIT: Oh and Sergeant Peppers = over rated.

This argument doesn't belong here, I don't subscribe to the idea that you can't talk about one band while bringing up the other. My opinions on the matter are well documented on these boarRAB, so if you have to know what I think about this fight, you can go find them.

As far as the topic is concerned; On rab Paul is given far less credit than is rightfully deserved. Everyone blows Lennon because he's dead and George was "the quiet one" so its hip to trump him up but in my opinion McCartney was the driving force behind the Beatles and without him they'd have been far less impressive. I think Lennons stuff is, on the whole, more pretentious and bad.

I'm not crazy for the beatles either. But i realize that they were great, and I totally respect them. But for me it just sounRAB too archaic and bland, i realize they were controversial songwriters for the time. But **** it if i hear them a lot everywhere i go.

Give me John Lennon's solo stuff anytime though, that I truly love :)

May get bashed for this...but I've always felt that pretty much everything they did before Rubber Soul was utter garbage. Come to think of it, I don't even like Rubber Soul that much. Everything else was great though, IMO.

No one really talks about Beatles in terms of their talent, with the exception of the common opinion that Lennon was a good songwriter. They were a pivotal pop band, and believe it or not, their influences go beyond and into your realm of music.
BTW, banRAB like metallica, guns and roses, korn, good charlotte, blink 182, and the other banRAB you have mentioned are indeed very radio friendly, and I find it hard to believe that you enjoy music from these banRAB and find the beatles to be overrated. Talk about "mediocre" banRAB- the banRAB you named are less than mediocre.
