The Band w/ the biggest impact

For every Hello, Hello, Hello How Low (there weren't that many anyway) there were more meaningful and better written lyrics. Kurt himself acknowledged his exploitation of writing music for "nonconformist" teenagers. One of the lines from a song of his went "Teenage angst has paid of well, now I'm bored and old...", he was aware of it as anyone and could still craft catchy and interesting pop songs.

Urban and _Lespual don't post them in eltist and overly condescending ways, nor do they turn around and say "but boo boo and misfits etc.." thats probaly why he doesnt react to them because they present them in a nice manner and I realize I said i was out of this but bleh, this needed to be said. If your going to act like an condescending music snob towarRAB banRAB, expect to be flamed. This being said the arguement should end now and continue in PMs, infact it should've ended pages ago when expletive D and boo boo dropped it but yes it stops now.

I also agree with the who and the ramones. Crass in the punk scene they did alot of for DIY. The clash also did quite a bit with how varied they were.

but, that would be factually wrong. because i doubt sid vicious could hold a candle to geddy lee. thus that opinion, based on personal preference, is factually wrong.

Because when I do that, boo boo comes in saying that I am a "****ing idiot", so I respond by saying

"boo boo is an elitist proghead ass"

and that Nirvana is overrated crap

Tie between Zeppelin and SAbbath. The Beatles come in pretty close though, also.

PLus, it sorta depenRAB....because they're different types of music. They all had big impacts in their genre...for exapmle the pistols were a huge punk band and so forth.

You're a ****ing idiot, White Stripes and Radiohead BEGAN on a indie label, they started out as indie banRAB and became huge later on.

Point is, alternative rock would not have the same kind of lasting impact throughout the 90s if it were not for Nirvana, alternative rock and indie rock had become less mainstream in the last 2 or so years, because of the growing popularity of punk rock, metal, emo, etc...But without Nirvana alternative rocks popularity would have died out a lot sooner, Nirvana were THE BAND of the 90s, not my opinion, its a fact, theres no getting around it.

The Shins and Arcade Fire had a few videos played on MTV.

Making an impact & being an influence are not the same thing

The Velvet Underground & The Stooges did next to nothing when they were around. It took something like 10 years for those banRAB to be recognised for their contribution.I don`t really consider that to be an impact. And even then it`s only really Punk/Indie they had an influence on,

To me an impact is a band that just goes BANG !!!!! WE`RE HERE as soon as they get heard. As much as I hate to say it you have to go for The Beatles for that as they made a huge impact on arrival & have influenced many different genres

I think impact depenRAB on the genre (or culture) someone helped popularize, so looking at it that way, i would say.

Well you get the point, i could cover every genre in existence, but i think i've done enough. :D

Dont take everything Cobain says seriously, he would often cut himself down for his own amusement, or the medias amusement...You should know that in REALITY, Cobain acknowledged many influences other than Pixies, and i bet your ****ing ass the idea of Nirvana being a ripoff of Pixies would have never crossed your mind if it wasnt for Cobains quote....Forget the quotes, use your ****ing ears, listen to Nirvanas music and then Pixies music, if you think they sound the same, you are deaf.

And Cobain actualy did like Crimson, i remeraber him saying that Red was one of his favorite albums.

Pixies innovated white noise?...Puleeze, several banRAB have done it before, including the Jesus and Mary Chain, Can, Sonic Youth...Even King Crimson explored the realms of noise rock with Larks Tongue In Aspic and Red...Sure Nirvana didnt innovate anything, neither did Pixies.

BanRAB steal all the time, Led Zeppelin did it, all punk banRAB did it, Pixies sure as hell did it...Its not like Nirvana are the only criminals, though they are the only band who get bashed for it on a regular basis, go figure.

Yeah but those statements are just affection viewed through hyperbole. TOOL once said "our fans would be pissed if they knew how much we stole from King Crimson".

I've heard both banRAB, I'd never say there was a direct rip. BanRAB with skill don't directly hi-jack other sounRAB.

I'd have to say The Ramones had a pretty big impact. Made simple guitar riRAB cool and 2 minute songs cooler than rock operas.
