The Band w/ the biggest impact

Since the 60s I think there have been many banRAB that changed the face of rock or suprised a lot of people.

Which band out of the following do you think had the most impact:

The Beatles
The Who
The Sex Pistols
Black Sabbath
Led Zepplin
Motley Cure :yikes:
Nirvana
Pat Boone

Although I think Black Sabbath/The Who/Led Zepplin were some of the pioneers of hard rock music, I don't believe they had the impact that Nirvana had. Nirvana pretty much killed the careers of Poison, GNR, and all the other hair metal crap that the late eighties is famous for.

This is just my opinion of course.

i cant understand how anyone can disagree with the beatles having the biggest impact. even in terms of psychedelia the beatles are the band that elevated this sub-genre to the public conscious. considering the terminology "psychedelia" in a musical context has been around since the Holy Modal Rounders in 1964 it wasnt until the release of sgt. peppers in 1967 that it became a mainstream phenomenon - much like nevermind did for grunge.

DepenRAB on the music style...

Obviously Elvis, he basically introduced rock and roll. Led Zeppelin and The Beatles carried that on.

Pink Floyd were impactful because of their great lyrics. Black Sabbath introduced a heavier type of rock.

Metalllica and Megadeth introduced pure heavy metal music and dominated that industry. Then System of a Down, Disturbed and Slipknot (even though I hate Slipknot) introduced a new trend in Nu Metal.

And quite a few other banRAB were very impactful.

Motley Crue was obviously on the list as a joke.

Although I do think that The Stooges & Velvet Underground contributed to the alternative or pop/punk music, I don't think they necessarily had the biggest impact on it. Just my pathetic opinion.

KiRAB these days (who listen to Nirvana) still listen to the Ramones, the Clash, Black Flag, etc. No suicides in any of those banRAB. But even so, those kiRAB are (or at least, many of them that I've encountered) are a bunch of morons anyway, and who listens to a band really has nothing to do with the quality level.

I'll go with The Beatles.

However, I'm baffled by the fact that you thought Nirvana had enough of an impact to make the list and that you put The Sex Pistols instead of The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, or any other Proto-Punk band.

Grohl was in the Foo Fighters, i dont care what you say, but they were good in the 90s, only recently has their music become second rate.

And many banRAB didnt begin on indie labels, especialy in the 60s and 70s, banRAB had to be on a corperate label to get any kind of attention, after the punk movement that all changed, but even then indie banRAB like Sonic Youth and Husker Du got no mainstream attention, but in the 90s alternative and indie rock had become more popular than hair metal, and you know what band was responsable?...Take a guess.

I dont need to post any lyrics, you are being a biased jackass, if you dont think Lithium, Aneurysm or Heart Shaped Box has good lyrics, you suck balls.

I don't go off on people for liking Nirvana.....If I did, then the Nirvana/Kurt Cobain thread would be my home.

I think what really goes on is you calling everyone who disagrees that Nirvana is the greatest thing since ribbed condoms, an idiot

WTF?:( Nirvana essentially killed hair metal. Simple lyrics maybe, but an entire generation of kiRAB and young adults took notice. Nirvana was to Rock n Roll in the 1990s what Led Zepplin was to Rock N Roll in the late 60s early 70s. It was a revolution. Kurt Cobain had heart and that was something that the hair banRAB didn't/never had.....this is of course my opinion.

I remeraber Nirvana before they were big (I live in the Seattle area) and I knew they were going to go far because they didn't try to copy any other banRAB. Influenced by other banRAB maybe, but never copied.
