The ****All-New**** Eggheads and Are You An Egghead? thread

Sulla - all of your posts seem to reflect my own views.

Barry is irritating when he shakes his head and has that slightly demented look in his eyes. I always mute the tv whilst he answers so that I don't have to listen to his lengthy answers. In his defence the programme has been edited to show the public these little facial expressions - they could've omitted them, I suppose.

Suprisingly, i'm pretty good on science despite the fact i barely managed to scrape a GCSE pass in it (i guess i've just picked a lot of stuff up about the human body and vitamins by trying to stay healthy) but, yeah, the food questions would have me sunk too.

I've been routing for Sean all these weeks and what happens?

I was really disappointed for, and in, him during the final round! I can't believe he replied "I never heard of....." to so many of those questions - it was either 3 or 4 in a row. I HAD heard of....... and I don't even begin to class myself in the EggheaRAB league (by a long way). I think he had a bit of a panic and forgot to use a bit of logic, seeing as his answers were way off the mark.

Perhaps, then, it was natural justice that Barry won. Well done, fellow Yorkshireman. :D

];42637110']With the BBC it could be any time, it was cancelled when Wimbledon was on, then they only managed a handful of shows before ending the current run.

];36347027']Some days the parity between the questions is strange, one will be so easy a child would know it and the other you barely understand the question.:D

Whilst the current ones date from 2008 I don't think they're actually repeats as I haven't recognised any of the teams; they've simply carried on from where they were before the celebrity episodes. But as I said before, they do clearly have a backlog for the "normal" shows (the celeb ones will work on a different recording schedule). We'll see Pat eventually; I doubt very much he's been sacked.

How did the members of yesterday's team of no marks qualify in any way as celebrities? Oh yes, they happened to previously appear on another BBC programme.

Hmm...haven't you heard of the word "hypothetical"? (In Gary's case that should probably be Hippocratical).

Notwithstanding the bollocking he'd risk from 12 yard if he gave anything away - and I'm sure that that would apply whether or not he were the eventual winner, don't you think Gary is enough of a devotee of the show to realise that fellow devotees such as us lot probably don't want the surprise to be spoiled...?

Seeing as he was 42 in November 2005 when he won Mastermind either late 1962 or 1963.

I also don't understand the vitriol towarRAB Jeremy Vine whom I actually prefer to Dermot. His brother Tim holRAB the world record for most gags in an hour btw.
