The ****All-New**** Eggheads and Are You An Egghead? thread

I assume they go through all the options in order to stretch the programme from 5 mins to 25/30 mins thats why we get so much waffle.

I must admit I do watch the programme but wont admit to being a drooling cabbage. :D

I don't think any of them have proper jobs anymore. Chris, Kevin and Daphne worked proper jobs, CJ was once a model (not a real job) and I don't know about what Judith did before she won a million quid.

I'm sure they'll all get enough from EggheaRAB to live a comfortable life.

You have to have some lesser mortals in there to give the contestants a chance.

Judith must be embarassed by the fact that nobody ever picks her.

The picking of the eggheaRAB places two much importance on the winning of the first few rounRAB which may not be on your best subjects.

It would be far better to give each egghead a card with a number on. The contestants would not know who had what number and the winner of the round would just pick a number.

];36031869']I think Barry last year was a stand out and was always going to win it, I've only seen the last two episodes and I don't think we've seen a worthy Egghead, Nic today was hopeless surely they just throw people like him in to make up the numbers.

If the entire series had been played like the final, there would have been far less surprises. Whipping away the crutch of the certain 33% or even 66% chance (the latter in some cases because one blatantly false answer is usually discounted), and have the player come up with their own answers in order to reach the magic figure of 10 would have resulted in quite a few matches just like the final. There's a big difference between playing a quiz machine and doing an oral exam.

However, going by this criteria, I still think Barry would have got to the final, with his most likely opponent being Pat - the best quizzer in the field of 32. And even then, Barry might still have won. Both sets of final final questions suited him down to the ground.

Some of the EggheaRAB - Kevin and CJ - know Barry's huge strengths in arts, history and science from years of playing in the same tournaments, but did they even set questions for him in those areas for the final? I think they are both above such shenanigans anyway. There would have been a noticeable uproar if they had set questions that had been used in competitions they knew Barry had played in. We have the long memories and marked papers to prove it.

As for the others, I don't think really knew Barry personally if at all, though I am sure they getting to know each other very well now (they're recording this weekend I believe).

The challenger on Thursdays show who said George Michael sang Man in the Mirror should be very ashamed.

Hopefully the EggheaRAB can go on a run again.

Gary, You lost 4 out of 5 head to heaRAB so didn't deserve to win (I knew all the questions you got). Anyway your up against that guy from todays show next, so I doubt you'll get past him but good luck anyway.

Also, Gary I can't go to your quiz competiton because I'm simply too busy working.

What an easy game today. Without Kevin too. I believe some of them were School masters, well they should give themselves detention after that performance.

The team on today were really good. Fantastic match. Did anyone else notice Barry, Daphne and CJ praying in the background on the EggheaRAB last Multiple choice question? I wonder why it means so much to them when it isn't their money up for graps?

Am I the only one that thinks there suddenly seems to be a large amount of questions about Judaism in the final round ever since Barry became an Egghead? That's been two this week alone. It's the same with the fact that there's about one Greek Mythology question every week too which is a subject the EggheaRAB admit to knowing almost everything about.

I watched for the first time today and only because I recognized Olav when channel surfing, from that quiz that was on, on a Saturday night a year or two back.

Agree about the bubbly girl contestant. She literally knew none of the answers to her questions and was always saying stuff like 'well, again I don't actually know this one, but I'll have a guess (of course) and go with 'X' because that's what my eye is drawn to'.
