Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio,

Kate Winslet, Reese Witherspoon, and Cameron Diaz

The Reaping? Seriously? are there actually people who likes that movie?

V for vendetta is a really good film! But you can't see the movie if youre thinking of something else, that will probably get you lost..

Yeah, scarlett johansson has made a lot of great movies too, Lost in Translation is really good. And yeah, the island is probably not what she's most proud of ;)

I really liked V for Vendetta! I saw it when it first came out, I think it has to be the kind of movie that you like or else you won't enjoy it. I think that Natalie Portman is a good choice!

I haven't seen many movies with Scarlett Johansson, but Lost in Translation wasn't very good at all.

Mind you, we were drunk again, but we stumbled on Steve Buscemi because I tipped a waitress $53+ and he was saying how he is Steve Buscemi from Resevoir Dogs an di said i AGREE with him in that movie, but i don't practice it,... then we thought,... hey, Steve Buscemi,... Fargo,... desperado,.... Armageddom,.... Steve might pass.

I think Keanu Reeves has never made a bad movie. He's probably one of the best actors to hit the big screen.

I have to say Vince Vaughn. My favorite of all time from him has to be swingers and old school.

The names that come to mind are Cliff Curtis, Daniel Day Lewis and Christian Bale. They're all incredible chameleons.

Well if you are going by the "criteria", it has to be atleast 5 movies :)

I was thinking maybe Gael Garc

lol I would say Johnny Depp, but he has definitely been in a bad movie. However, nobody has ever seen it ...(Private Resort, it's this awful teen movie from the 80s.)
I can't really think of anyone.

Not to be an ass...

But this whole topic IS subjective.

I mean, we can eliminate every single working actor or actress in HW by ONE movie. Hell, half the movies these big-names did befoe they become stars would immediately disqualify them.

For example, "Fire on the Amazon" with Sandra Bullock. She even appears topless... But it is a cheesy, direct-to-video, B-Movie as well. I can think of a thousand others and is why I am questioning whether or not there is any real consensous that is going to be reached?

So it's a rip-off of Training Day then? I remember hearing the movie's directed by the guy who wrote Training Day. :look:

And Keanu's good at playing a surfer dude (or cop pretending to be a surfer dude a la Point Break). Forest Whitaker I believe is in that movie, and he's awesome. I also remember seeing Chris Evans, and he's good eye candy. :D

But I probably won't rent it then unless I'm desperate. Thanks for the warning.

He was amazing in Schindler's List, and I actually liked him in Maid in Manhattan. Though apparently a lot of people dislike the latter movie, but I thought it was cute fluff.

I really enjoy Will Smith. We eliminated him for Wild, Wild West.

One of the topics we glossed over was the "best fatherly figure" or mentor type, and we could only muster up a short list that seem to cover them all, Fishburne, Freeman, Connery, who all seem to take the push for youth and rise above it. Those are few and far between though.

I would agree with your choice of Leonardo DiCaprio. He really hasn't made a bad movie and all the ones he has made as of late have been phenomenal.

I've seen Ned Kelly. As an Australian who is intrigued by the legend of Kelly, I ended up being really disappointed with it. I also hated Troy with a passion, but I am a history buff and anyone who has studied or knows what really went on with the Trojan War could spend hours telling you how wrong it was. With both movies I found that the movies had twisted history in so many ways, I couldn't enjoy either of them, whether they were portrayed as "true stories" or not. So yeah, Orlando is totally out of the running, IMO.

I thought Tom Hanks, but he has had a few duds, too, hasn't he? I don't think there's any such thing as a person who has never made a bad movie. What, or should I say who, decides whether a film is bad or not? Every single film will have fans, and have haters. Name one movie where every single person who saw it, liked it. It's impossible, everyone has different tastes.

For example, I've liked everything from Reese Witherspoon, minus Legally Blonde 2. Even the ones that critics slandered, like Fear, Sweet Home Alabama and Cruel Intentions I really loved. Even if I liked LB2 and thus I would think she's never made a bad movie in my opinion, critics obviously think differently, don't they? Plus many others too, no doubt.

In response dman it's true he did make a bad movie lol, Detah to Smoochy and Keeping the Faith D'oh oh well he's still a great actor as is Clive Owen.

How about Micheal Caine or Jude Law or Humphrey Bogart?

Leo and Tilda.

The movie didn't live up to my expectations, but I did like it, I always fall for movies like that one, that bring a bigger message and make my mind wonder. Imo, it was brilliant until the shark attacked those 2 characters (forgot the names). Then Leo goes ballistic and it all becomes messy. The ending is good, along with the beginning. Plus, Leo speaks a bit of Croatian in it, so all is forgiven. :goof:
