Really, first off, if you're trying to argue how series were perceived in America, Speed Racer (The original, not the Nick Toons one) is not only toted as a bad series in the US, but probably demonstrates a standard for bad series in terms of presentation, translation and scene cutting. You simply can't claim that the high quality Gundam original series we got in the US can get defeated by that flaming pile of garbage Speed Racer the US had. It was bad for the time it premiered in the US and it's still bad today.
If you want to take this on a Global level, its well known Gundam is to Japan as Starwars was to the US. It helped to DEFINE what animation was. It helped to DEFINE the "Big Robots destroy things" type series. It set a very high standard that is so loft, Bandai is still trying to create another Gundam series that captures the audiance in the compelling way that series did.
Even looking at the list from a boarder, US Only point of view, it's hard to even stomach where they stuck Gundam on there. Grouping ALL Gundams together just isn't cool especailly when you have real winners like Gundam Wing and real losers like G Gundam. Even that beign said, if we're talking strictly US, the original Gundam series itself wasn't precieved nearly as well as Gundam Wing was.
Mind you, I'm only picking out Gundam from this list because thats what you rebuttled with. I could probably make a comprehensive list of problems with the list, but frankly, it's a waste of time. The list just isn't that good.
