tennis courtesy hiting your opponet?

There's nothing in the rule book that says you can't do it. If you watch the pros after they hit their opponent with the ball they immediately apologise. It's courteous not deliberately hitting them with the ball. If you constantly do it then you are an a$$

i was playing doubles today and i aimed my serve at the guy at the net and hit him twice and we won the point but he was pretty silent and i asked later on if he was mad he said know just upset he was suprised that i would do that and that its ignorent and i was forehanding the person at the net cause that seemed like the easyest way to make a point and the girl said it was bad sportsmentship am i a mean jerk? or is it ok to do this cause its part of the game? i dident realize it was such a mean thing...... ya and now all 3 of them think im a ass
btw 2 guys vs a girl and a guy was the set up of this match

You really shouldn't purposely aim to hit the ball at your opponent. Tennis is a very polite sport and I know that many of us players like to think of it as above other sports and more sophisticated. Our porfessionals are some of most intelligent professional sportsmen with the most manners.
If you hit your opponent by accident, that's understandable. It happens.
Example: I was playing a doubles match on my school team against some snobby Varsity girls from some rich prep school and we were neck in neck. The girls zones out who was up at net and I backhanded the ball right in her direction, trying to get it past her, not at her, and her reflexes weren't fast enough and it hit her wrist. She pretty much almoststarted crying on court and her wrist looked swollen. It was horrible. I said sorry, asked her and her team mate if they wanted to keep playing, and then turned my back on them and continued the match. We won the next two games and the match. Her wrist was swollen to twice its size and she got what was coming to her for her snobby attitude.
Moral of the Story: Don't aim purposely at someone. But if it hits them by accident, oh well.

Bahhaha.
Hope this helps!
