Thought I'd miss the recorder, but I bought an inexpensive recorder and don't miss the recorder I had on my T3.

Otherwise every works really well, great for ebooks, acid image, bluetooth to bluetooth modem, documents to go, ereader, koolalarms (I wake with my favorite song), dvds to video, myWB, versamail, and web browser (Blazer).

All in all a great machine.

I am a recently new user of T5.

I started with a Palm Vx, progressed to Palm m515, then onto Tungsten T3, and currently T5.

With each upgrade there was a learning curve for me, but that was never a big curve. Each upgrade, I have been happy with my upgrade. I have started with Palm products and have not deviated. What can I say, I am a creature of habit.

I was hesitant to move onto a T5, but when my T3 died, I had no choice when I discovered Palm was discontinuing the T3. Now that I have my T5, I am becoming more and more happy with my product.

Initial installation of all the applications I use in my professional career and in my personal life was a chore. I discovered that the T5 becomes overwhelmed if you try to install too many applications at one time. Once I discovered this, I was able to install all of my many applications through stages.

I appreciate all of the storage available. I also appreciate the relative smoothness of the operation. Of course there are minor gliches, but these were minor and appear to have essentially resolved themselves as my T5 and I get to know each other better each day.

I hadn't really used the voice recorder on my T3, so I really have no remorse in not having this option. I know that this and the lack of WI-FI capablities some find bothersome, but that doesn't bother me either. I have discovered that if I had internet access while working, contributes to my lack of productivity.

I Agree on the WiFi, the only time I use it is when I fly. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and there are no WiFi places here at all unless you set one up in your home.

I too discovered the trick is to get the latest versions of your programs and install them one at a time, saving your backup directory after each installation, etc. That worked really well.

All that done, I sure do like the T5, beautiful machine, I had plans to order a Dell X50v if the T5 wouldn't do the trick, but now I won't. The learning curve switching to PocketPC would be a chore, since I've been PalmOS since early on with the HandSpring.

Take Care,
Jim

I deleted that Addit application. I decided I didn't need it. It seemed to get in my way - not in the fashion of causing a crash - just that it was there and I never really figured out why it was necessary.
Also, I deleted all of those telephone links, besides which my telephone wasn't even there. I freed up more space on the hard drive.
As I grow more and more accustomed to my T5 I am discovering that I am liking it more and more. I was just running the built in back up software, but going though my mounts of applications, I was discovering that really wasn't enough of a safety net, so I just started using Teal's backup application as a precautionary measure.
