The 8820 T-Mobile will be getting is not going to be electrically or mechanically different from the one at&t currently has. It will have different software in it to activate the UMA feature of the unit.
3G is currently only available to CDMA customers when it comes to BB devices (with I believe the 8707 being an exception?). There will most likely be a complete new lineup for 3G GSM devices beyond what is available today.
No one knows if they will be offering the capability of discounted unlimited family plans in the future since Sprint has upped the ante in the new price war. From what I can tell, it looks like almost everything has become fair game in this new unlimited battle.
