Syndicated "South Park" Cuts Thread

So I totally forgot tonight was the debut of syndicated "South Park" and missed "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe". :(

Did anyone see it? Were there any edits?

My station has decided to show an hour a night by splitting the episode cache in the middle and airing the second episode from that point(they did this with "Malcolm" last year).
They showed "Anal Probe" as well as whatever the episode is called where the kids are on Ritalin and Timmy is introduced. Boy, it'll be ironic if I'm the only one that tuned in 'cause everyone knows by now I don't have cable and this is the only way I could see these....so I can't answer your question!

I found an obvious edit TONIGHT....in "Trapper Keeper."

"Cartman, apologize to Stan!"
"Awright, awright. Stan------"
*blip* Credits.

What was cut out there?

No, I'm pretty sure that's how it always had ended, the joke being that we can never see cartman apologize for anything.

(Except, apparently, when he thinks he's dead)

There's a new intro for the syndie version. Based on the first few seasons, but much faster-paced and with characters from the later seasons (Mr. Slave, the goo-backs, the taco who craps ice cream) in the background.

Here's a schedule I found on alt.tv.southpark for the San Francisco station (which is airing SP twice a day):

11:30 pm
9/19 - Cartman Gets an Anal Probe
9/20 - Weight Gain 4000
9/21 - Volcano
9/22 - Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride
9/23 - An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig
9/26 - Death
9/27 - Starvin' Marvin
9/28 - Tom's Rhinoplasty
9/29 - Mecha Streisand

Midnight
9/19 - Timmy 2000
9/20 - Trapper Keeper
9/21 - Chef Goes Nanners
9/22 - Helen Keller: The Musical
9/23 - Something You Can Do With Your Finger
9/26 - 412 (that's what the schedule says - maybe they mean "4th
Grade"?)
9/27 - Fat Camp
9/28 - Wacky Molestation Adventure
9/29 - Cartman Joins NAMBLA

Looks like "Damien" is on the "no-air" list. "Pinkeye" and "Mr. Hankey" aren't on either, but they may just be held up until the appropriate holiday season.

In San Francisco? The "city by the bay" isn't exactly Indiana... ;-)

According to Zap2It.com, my local station (low-power station WMLW, over-the-air channel 41, Milwaukee) will air an hour of SP on Saturdays, with "Damien" and "Pip" scheduled for back-to-back airings at 10 PM. Maybe you should check the weekend listings for your local station (which might be different from the weekday listings)?

-B.

Checked my listings (WBDC in Washington DC) and it does have a Saturday showing at 11 pm of "Damian" and "Pip". The Saturday after that: "Terrence and Phillip in Not Without My Anus" and "Cripple Fight".

The NY schedule here has pretty much been following the same one as posted for San Fran. They air it twice a night at 1:30 and 2:00 AM. Right now it's Helen Keller the musical.

I'd like to think it was because NAMBLA was a better episode. But if it is religious implications, then I guess we don't be getting my favorite two-partner ("Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?" and "Probably")

According to the TV Guide article, some eps won't be making it to syndication. No names were given, though. I'd say "It Hits the Fan" and "Proper Condom Use" ("Red rocket! Red rocket!") as certainties and "Death Camp of Tolerance" as a probable.

Certainly "It Hits the Fan" simply shouldn't be censored for network TV standards. Even if they want to, they shouldn't. It'll just kill it.

I saw "Fingerbang" last night and it seems clear that they're going to leave in as much as they reasonably can. The only edits I noticed were all of Cartman's G-dammits being shortened to "Dammit!" (you can really only tell if you've seen the TV-MA version, they did a good job), a half-bleep of A-hole, and shortening the scene where Cartman's tape keeps running and then you see his mom and Mr. Garrison doing S&M stuff (basically you don't see the part where she walks over to a cup and starts peeing in it). Other than that it all seemed to be left in, including words like "faggy" and "p**sy" (and in fact, that was a particularly controversial use, as Cartman said about God, "I'm not scared of him, that guy's a p**sy.") Also, they completely left in Wendy's audition song, only censoring the F-word like they did in the Comedy Central version. You know, that's the song where the end of each line sounds like something dirty...

"she was a big fat
contaminated water will make you really sick
something something something, and blood comes out your
dictate what I'm saying..."

Well, it appears the word "d**k" is okay by these standards too. I suppose it might depend on the context, though. "You're a d**k!" is allowed, but perhaps "my d**k" won't be.

That Skipped ep would probably be "Summer Sucks". In that one, Mr. Hat went missing. They might have skipped that ep due to the fact that it contains dr. katz (no, the actual character, drawn like he is on the show, and with the same VA) and there may be copyright problems in using him, but that wouldnt make sense as the same ep is on the dvd's.
