Swedish Wallander Series 2

From the outside, his performances seemed fine so I hope that he continues in the role if a third Swedish series is commissioned and I sincerely hope that it is.

As it is, it looks like we have five more episodes to look forward to: D
 
Needless to say the two young police officers were meant to be replacements (of a sort) for Stefan and Linda.

Svartmann more or less saved Kurt's life and he still didn't get an invite to Kurt's new house :(
 
It's technically Saturday, so it's only a few hours now until the repeat of Innan frosten/Before the frost at 9pm on BBC4 which is good news even though it's repeat such is the quality of the drama.

One thing though, if you can't see it live then I'd suggest recording it as there doesn't appear to be a repeat on BBC4 later on in the week.
 
It has been on RT's Saturday Choices page every episode this series, but with the tosh that's been on the two main channels lately even Brannagh's version would merit that. We'll see if it's still there when Merlin and Strictly kick off the autumn season tonight.:D:D:D
 
Thanks for the reminder that this was still going. I had thought it had ended when there no episode last week.

A really moving scene at the end with Kurt and Linda. The whole show is much stronger emotionally than any British show of a similar kind that I have seen.
 
I missed series 1 when it was shown last year and started with series 2 which I thoroughly enjoyed and so was delighted when I saw series 1 was going to be repeated again. Having now watched the first four I feel rather disappointed in them for some reason and think that series 2 was far superior.......maybe they will improve as they go along?
Linda is starting to annoy me because she gets everything right and really seems to be the star of the show rather than Kurt. I much prefer Pontus and Isabella to Linda and her partner, so far he doesn't seem to have much depth.
However despite all that Saturday night at 9.0pm is still a time to take the phone off the hook and settle down in front of the TV!!
 
Yep, last night's episode was a cracking one and the cinematography was good as you rightly pointed out, jo2015. Wallander had even polished himself up a bit and he'd even had a shave!

All that crime in a small town of just 17,000 is certainly keeping us entertained with that high quality drama.
 
Because it has such a small population and soft socialist immigration policies it will be one of the first countries in Europe to become Muslim and they are partly responsible.

I'll stop with the politics now, back on topic.
 
But lots of Wallander characters wear black leather jackets without all being baddies! Stefan used to wear his black leather jacket on a frequent basis...phwoar...
 
BBC4 definitely showed Series 1 in an odd order as I recall they showed an episode featuring Kurt's female becoming and falling down some stairs before the epsiode in which she first became his boss
 
For me it's the other way round. Isabella and Pontus are rather cardboard figures compared to Linda and Stefan especially in the early episodes of series 2. Watched a couple of Wallanders on German TV when on holiday. Unfortunately it's dubbed and loses a lot compared to the original Swedish plus subtitles.
 
I sussed it out half way through too, but that doesn't bother me in the least as a lot of the time I find the journey more interesting than the denouement. However, I feel that these first 2 episodes have certainly been a bit of a letdown, the show is definitely missing Linda and Stefan. The 2 new characters really need to be given some meaty stories, rather than just being peripheral characters, which they are at the moment.
 
...which is a good thing, Twister's Twin, since the Swedish Wallander is just such good drama that it surely deserves as wide an audience as possible. As for tonight at 9pm on BBC4 we can look forward to a repeat of The Photographer in which a visitor to photographic exhibition steals an exhibit and is then later found dead in the local harbour.



If you look carefully, sickBocks, at those lists that you have kindly prepared for us, you'll notice something common to the Swedish titles of the Wallander episodes.

The titles frequently end in -en and that gives a bit of an insight into Swedish grammar which can seem a little unusual to English speakers. Take for example, a priest - en pr
