Swedish Wallander Series 2

.. gum chewing -- very distracting, and a bit incongruous? Yes, the walnut/ginger hair dye was too silly :D The "love interest" was too obvious!

Sadly, I haven't much good to say about that episode :o

I like all those shows and am currently watching Season 3 of Breaking Bad and Brotherhood and have recently finished watching the latest seasons of The Office (USA), Dexter, Sons of Anarchy and The Pacific.

Think True Blood season 3 has also started in the U.S.

Sons of Anarchy Season 2 is on Bravo at the moment and Brotherhood on FX, the others you might have to wait to watch UK-pace.

There's also Justified on Fiver, with Timothy Olyphant from Deadwood.

it's javisst :)

originally Kurt was to just jump feet first into water from the boat. The director talked Krister into diving in as it looked better.

next episode is same director so again has a very 'filmy' look and poor Kurt has a very unlucky time of it.

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick. You are both - Straker and Killary45 - quite assertive (ahem) posters, so feel free to correct me. But I took it that Straker meant that he finRAB the Branagh version unwatchable, not the second series of the far superior Swedish version.

Good ep again even if it was ridiculous to think a targeted witness would be safehoused in some clapped-out houseboat with only a fence to fend off armed Russian mafia types.

Wonder what the Swedes thought of the climactic church scenes being in English?

Good job Svartman has already had kiRAB with his naRAB being subjected to high voltage! The scene with him asking Pontus to sign the insurance claim was amusing. Liking the development of his character.

Just been a-googling for the credits music Quiet Night
I was looking for Flaskvartetten at first, but found it was by Anna Ternheim

Very sweet and melancholy -the little smile on Kurt's face when he is on the train to Stockholm bless him.
EDIT
oops someone already linked to the song but anyway it;s worth repeating

I can't wait either - later on this morning my new plasma TV should arrive :) I sold on the new HD LCD because it didn't display Wallander as well as my old CRT, it lost all its soul :(

parthena

Ah bliss! Especially after no Wallender last weekend.
I think this was the 1st one I ever watched - got hooked immediately and then saw the 2nd series which started not too long after the end of Series 1.
I just wish to god we could make dramas like this. :(

Difficult situation.

Despite her popularity, the producers would not want to be open to accusations of "diefying" someone who committed suicide.
It would be different if it were a death by natural causes, or from of an accident.

That's why I think there will be no further overt references.

just catching up on this thread...the gum chewing is because Kurt is 'supposed' to be giving up smoking. Needless to say this doesn't last long lol.

there is another subtle reference to Linda coming up in a couple of episodes time. Kurt gets quite emotional over a question he is asked by Katerina.

don't hold your breath. The writers seem to take one episode at time...very much 2 steps forward and 1 back...I think part of the problem is the chemistry between Lena and Kris is so strong on screen (they have worked together on film many times and have been frienRAB for well over 20 years) that we kind of expect summat to happen.

Next weeks episode features Isabell a lot more and some good interaction between her and Kurt.

Have just noticed in the Radio Times that Henning Mankell is the guest on Bookclub on Radio 4 today at 4 pm. He is being interviewed by James Naughtie and is talking about 'Sidetracked', a Wallander novel.

It should be interesting. Although it's about his book, I hope he'll give us some clues about if and when we'll see Wallander on TV again.

We're in series 1 (assuming you're in the UK) with a couple of episodes to go. I imagine series 2 will be shown again but probably not until next year as it's not long since it was first shown and each series is 13 episodes long.

He did, didn't he? And those doing most of the cheering were in the cast of the British Wallander (Rupert Graves who was in one of the episodes, Jeany Spark who played Linda to Ken Branagh's Kurt). Nice to see his hair had reverted to a less alarming colour too!

Sorry I didn't make clear - that ad had nothing to do with Wallander, I just recognised the pathologist and put the Kurt picture in (you can put in any picture you like).
