Swedish Wallander Series 2

lol, don't get me wrong I love Wallander but I thought this episode was weak and I am getting fed up with two new young cops getting injured all the time but it is still is the best thing on tv.
 
Based on "Tell no one" by Harlan Coben. a decent enough sports manager/ ex Fed series of books...... but not a patch on Mankel's books :cry:
 
It may have been more obvious to a UK audience because we've just had all that Jamie Bulger stuff in the news and this had some parallels, plus we are generally OBSESSED with paedophilia in the UK and know so many cases of mistaken attacks on paedophiles.

Personally, I didn't try to work it out. I don't feel Wallander is plot or solution driven, it's about character, time and place for me and I concentrate on that.
 
And with the summer season upon us there's not likely to be anything to take its place :(

I had several problems with this latest round of Swedish Wallander - too many unnecessary fast edits to drive the tension and too much reliance on natural lighting in the interior scenes. I also found it hard to "like" Kurt. I wonder if the TV series will let the story breath instead of being gimmicky, and somewhat claustrophobic? Have they transfered the police station to an old school?! Why were the police cameras pointing, coincidently, at the cars that are about to explode?

No, I didn't like this episode much having been a fan of the previous series. Watching an episode of UK Wallander puts this one in the shade in terms of drama, space and pace.

Still, the story was interesting - just the delivery was overboard.

Just to remind you that Bloodline/BloRABband starts at 9pm tonight on BBC4. It's episode 11 of 13 in series 1. Enjoy the great drama!
 
There does seem to be two different fonts in use, with occasional examples of a "wider" one, I wonder if there are more blatant errors that get corrected, but they don't get them all?

Another good ep I thought even if the end scene by the beach reminded me a bit of the end of LotR or Star Wars. Half expected Gandalf or Chewy to pitch up.

Surprised that Wallander watchers are also footie fans. Needless to say I remained in blissful ignorance of the result until this morning when it seems a 1-all draw constitutes the main story/headline news. Pathetic.

Anyone know what the trance tune in the background was when Kurt was talking to Sk

When I saw it the first time, I didn't know about Johanna Salstrom, but that line will be the abiding memory of that episode for me.

Just how many people are there that prefer Bra-nagh to the original Wallender?:confused:

They can't even get the pronouciation right in the BBC version - yet they go to the trouble of filming it in Sweden but they pronounce it Wall-un-der rather than Ver-lan-der.
 
Kurt did seem to be very "forgiving" of someone who was responsible for a few murders and torturing of one of his officers!

I guess it all made sense in the end, but there was a sense of "Le Carre" about how the whole spiral of killing came from one small incident (the HIV-positive test of the conductor)...
