Swedish Wallander Series 2

Eulogising letter in RT about the genuine Wallander. Sadly the reply confirms that Krister will not be back and to compensate they are re-running series 1.......again.

Earlier in the mag Bazza Norman outs himself as a hardcore fan.........of Swedish Wallander! It

I enjoy these series, far more than the Branagh "always in your face" version.

It's the first time I've noticed one or two grammatical errors in the sub-titles. It's not important, but strange that I've never noticed any in the previous series.

I too thought the "moment" with the photo of Johanna S

The on-screen programme guide (Virgin Media) which I just checked on our tv has a 10 minute programme called "Philip Hoare's Guide to Whales" scheduled for 20:50 and that's what is on the BBC Four listings on the website too, so it looks as though it will start at 21:00 as usual. Anyone not willing to trust this information would be advised to set to record from 20:50 to 22:30 just in case, though you might find a soothing documentary about whales to watch for 10 minutes before the mayhem, murders, explosions and intra-force romances kick off in southern Sweden.

Assigning Svartman to protect someone is about the same as pinning a bullseye on their back. There should be a "24" style clock on screen counting down to him doing something stupid.

I vote the gorgeous Nina Zanjani to play Wonder Woman in the proposed remake.

Kurt Wallender speaking English. :)

Strange to see the other side of Kurt's house. It faces the beach, but the other side didn't look that impressive.

Was the dog ok?

I didn't realise that Ola Rapace (Stefan)'s wife Noomi played the female lead in the original Swedish films of Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy

I love Wallander its my faveorite programme however I have to say Wallander is morphing into Horatio Caine from CSI Miami.............plus it is funny my o/h watch it and we keep turning the sound up why do we do that .......lolx

As someone who bought eps 1-13 from Sweden before they were ever shown here, and has subsequently bought the remainder that have sub-titles, does anyone know if the current series is going to be released with English sub-titles? I'm keeping them on my PVR for now, but would love the DVRAB (if for no other reason that to get rid of the BBC4 DOG!).

I stupidly missed the first series but this has rapidly become one of my 'must see' programmes. I used to record it on Thursdays as it clashed with CSI New York but now I have to see it earlier so csi has been relegated to the Sunday repeat! I thought at first the subtitles would be a problem but now I don't think I even notice them.

No not really, Katarina blew hot and cold a bit, she told that ex policeman friend of Kurt's early on that it was nice to be attracted to someone without actually doing anything about it..........or worRAB to that effect if I remember rightly. Then when Kurt got a bit too involved she backed him off, then eased up towarRAB the end........coming off the back of a divorce would make her a bit wary probably, but Kurt's been smitten from day one :D
If they ever did make another series (please, please) don't know how they would write her back in, unless she was just a casual visitor to Kurt's on the days he got shot:D:D:D

Oh, I agree. Compare and contrast properly, by all means, but not the same old chestnut about KB, full stop. Which is what the other poster did.
Can we call a truce now? And let the series unfold?

Got to agree with you there M, in fact I would put it in my top 3 favourite series of all time:D:D
Still haven't watched it yet, hope it's on iplayer for a good few days:D

You are not kidding! we were in Thailand in April for a month due to the Volcano (It was hell! lol) and Scandinavian tourists far outnumber all the rest....

Have been over to Sweden twice now in our motorhome it is a brilliant country to visit.

will the series be repeated soon does any one know? as I missed the first few......and cannot find it online anywhere to watch
