...force you to allow theists to join? Why can't an organization choose to be a "club" for people with particular sets of beliefs? Apparently, the Boy Scouts is an outdoor-skills organization for youth theists. Don't you have the right to set up a similar organization for atheists (if you wish)?
 
If it's entirely a private organization, the government can't say a word about who you let join or don't.

The problem with the Boy Scouts is that it's NOT entirely a private organization. It receives government funds, gets free use of government facilities, and gets promoted by government agencies and employees. As a private organization they can decide who they let in and who they don't -- but if they discriminate in those decisions, they have no right to government funding or support in any way whatsoever.
