It took in around $32 million in it's second week, which is quite some way behind movies like King Kong and Batman, and less than half of what Spiderman 2 took in week 2. There's a big question mark over whether or not it can even make it to $200 million now, but WB are almost certainly committed to a sequel, so don't worry.
Looking at the movie, and considering what Singer has said, I doubt the actual budget was much more than $200 million, not counting marketing, of course. Given the many false starts, I doubt WB ever expected it to break even, but they will more than a little concerned that it is now looking like a bit of a flop.
