November 28th to be exact! (yae I get to buy 2 dvds that day! Supes & Joan of Arcadia)
And yeah, I agree, this film did pay homage to Superman I & II. If any of you read the novel, it pays more homage to it. During the flight and fight scene when Clark is saving the plane, in his mind he thinks of when he first met Lois: how she was on an aircraft and then he saved her: symmetry as the book called it.
And then when Superman says that it's "still the safest way to travel", in the novel, Lois is thinking he remembered.
Something I liked about the book (and maybe the movie too, can't remember if the line was inserted was this one by Lois:
He's a little fragile, but he'll grow up to be big and strong like his dad, won't you?
This line is so great because now we no longer picture Richard as the father but rather Clark/Superman. So now when I think on this line it makes me wonder if Lois really is talking about Superman since the pretext is clear!
