Subwoofer still works?

Today my amp fuses blew and now my two 12 subwoofers smell like smoke so i replaced my fuses and now they work but still smell like smoke but im afraid of turning it up again so i was wondering if they smell like smoke but still play does it mean they are blown?
 
If your subwoofers get really hot when playing them then your oeverpowering them. That could be the cause of the smoke smell. the sub could actually be burning. It could also be your amp, which is not very good either. First thing to do is find out where the smell is coming from. If its the subs turn it up and see if they get really hot. if so you need bigger subs or a smaller amp. if its the amp, im not sure what to tell you. I had an amp that did that and burnt up but i never did fix it so im not sure what to do there
