subwoofer help please?

yesterday my alpine 10" type r started smoking really bad and then shut off. i looked inside of it and the voice coil is good but the sub wont make any noise at all is it blown or did the glue inside of it melt

10 bucks says you didnt know what you were doing and didnt set your amp settings right, which caused it to clip, distort, and eventually blow

10 bucks for me! yay!


get a new one, make sure your not overpowering it, make sure the RMS watts from the amp, and the RMS from the sub are the same, so their equal.. having less is fine, but more is what over powers it.
 
its done, its just 1 10 replace it, and learn where distortion begins............i havent blown a sub in 12 years.
