I have 2 12 inch bandpass subs wired to an 1000 watt amp. The bass sounds good but it does a poor job of hitting the low notes in songs like "King Kong" and "Late Night Tip" and "Soul Survivor". I am wondering if the amp or the subs cannot handle it.
also when it plays the low notes i can feel the vibrations throughout the car but cannot hear the bass.

is that a costum built box??...if not that might be the problem....try putting the speakers in a different box...

edit:
it sounds to me that the problem is the box...it happened to me when i built my first custom box...I could feel the vibration and all...but the bass wasn't so good...

You could be overpowering the system and just rattling out distortion.
Check your wiring. If you have them wired incorrectly, the pair could be cancelling out one another and the sound would suffer.

Your subs might not play that frequency very well. Your subs will still try to so they will vibrate but the sound wont be very loud. With my subs the lower bass in King Kong is also quieter than the rest.

certin subs hav certin frequency rating, that means the lower frequency ratin the sub has the lower the bass is, sounds like ur subs dnt hav a good low frequency rating. also look at ur amp... u might not hav it set up right, make sure ur gain is down an bass boost is up. make sure ur amp has a bass crossover(most amps do) also check ur radio settings, play around wit it turn ur bass up sum an c if it helps
