i was wondering if a box that really is TOO big will hurt subs at all? I have blown my sub, but i thought about it and i was giving it less power than it was even rated for and didn't even exceed the max power ever and was wondering if my box that is possibly too big had anything to do with it

the problem really probably isnt the box. the problem is that you played them too loud too early. if you just got the sub then there is what is called a period of time that they need to be "broken in" subs that arent broken in can be blown at even half or less than half of the rms power rating. the box could really not blow a sub.

all having a big box will do is hurt sound quality and take up space. im guessing your sub sucked and was not cea-2006 compliant.

Too big of a box will only muffle the sound. It was probably the quality of the subs you bought that caused them to blow
