Stupid Republican idea of the day

To be ruthlessly fair, I don't recall Starkers ever saying anything quite so brain-dead.
To jog your memory...

Starving Artist said:
Then there were the numerous questions of propriety concerning Hillary's law practice and stock profits; Whitewater; Hillary's secret health care machinations; disappearing files; and of course, Vince Foster's odd death.

And most recently (that I know of):

The history books are full of Clintonian skullduggery that couldn't be proven but which anybody with half a brain knows happened. Whitewater, dissapearing documents in the aftermath of Vince Foster's death which suddenly appeared in the White House living quarters, Clinton's behavior toward various women he regarded as bimbos (and which would have people screaming for prison time had he been a Republican), etc., etc. If it weren't for the blue dress, he'd be wagging his finger and denying Lewinski to this day.
That last one was a fun thread. So, ok, he's very careful about actually coming out and saying it (Hillary killed Vince, or more accurately, Hillary had Vince killed), but if you read between the lines, well...

Lame, content-free scary video from the National Republican Senatorial Committee: Paranormal Taxivity

What the hell was that? And what's with all the gunshots? "Content-free" is right.

Is this the Republican default since 9/11? Just keep everybody scared all the time, because frightened people can be persuaded to vote against their own self interests?

Apropos of nothing, but reading Issa's name always makes me think of a drunk Discworld inhabitant.

"Issa, issa, wossname."
This dickhead having that name upsets me because Issa is the name of one of my favorite singers (formerly Jane Siberry)

And is so very tempting. Of course I don't need a credit card with a $295.00 annual fee, but I'm pre-approved! That means they think I'm responsible and worth doing business with! How can I insult people with such sound character judgment abilities by turning down their generous offer?

And I can have a picture of a puppy on the card! A puppy!

But didn't you hear? Sanford's Argentinian adventure is all Obama's fault!

The affair started a year ago when Bush was in the White House and Sanford was being considered as a running mate for McCain. Of course, it's President Obama's fault!

Biggirl is from New York City where there are many Black and Puerto Ricans mutts around. I've never heard negrito/a used in the same way nigger is. Perhaps in the sense of 'that black one' but never like 'that nigger".
No word in Spanish is used in the same way as "nigger", we lack the same racial history as America, for one. For lack of a similar word we make up for it by using "negrito", a diminutive that, in the proper context, sounds like it diminishes the person.

Of course, in the proper context is also a very sweet expression, funny that. But as I said, I fail to see in what context the Honduran in question would mean it as a term of endearment.

Dominicans, for the most part, prefer "morenito(a)", which I use with my daughter sometimes (we speak English at home), even though she is a blond and has blue eyes. :)

Lame, content-free scary video from the National Republican Senatorial Committee: Paranormal Taxivity

Not just content free but logic and plot free. I'm surre it's supposed to mimic the trailer of a horror movie, but Jeez, it makes no sense at all.

I prefer to look at it as a herd running off the cliff. The smart ones will stop short and, after some re-branding, inherit the party.

I have been accused of being an eternal optimist, though.

Not racist at all. There is an offensive simian term, but it isn't gorilla, which implies strength.

And globe trotting clearly preceded the Harlem Globetrotters, so that isn't racist either.
Someone should tell the offended ones that they should stop acting lik the Republican stereotype of an easy to offend liberal. Sometimes Gorilla Glue is just Gorilla Glue.

Well, all I can say is that a great many conservatives and Republicans don't want more services.

By all means, do not avail yourself of them then. I had a similar experience as an atheist in a Catholic hospital. I totally managed to avoid the chapel without being in anyone's way, and you can do the same: get out of the way.

Thanks for the Kristol brain-damage Frostillicus. It's always interesting to see what stupidity that asshole is going to spout next. Palin too.

here's some more McCain idiocy:

McCain urges town hall attendees to cut up their AARP membership cards.

Last week, the AARP, a nonpartisan organization that advocates on behalf of those aged 50 and over, endorsed the House health care bill.

That is ok, you are on record of not believing the conclusions of judges and prosecutors after the evidence was already reviewed.
I be very interested in knowing how you come to this conclusion. I obviously accept that no evidence of chicanery was discovered, and I've said as much. Still, that hardly proves no such chicanery took place, and just like with guys and "Bush lied", I'm free to make that observation. Still, you have seen no call by me to press charges against her, have you? And if not, wouldn't that indicate that I accept the conclusions of the authorities that no evidence of wrongdoing that would hold up in court could be found, despite the fact that I personally believe that evidence tampering either took place or was deemed unnecessary prior to its having been turned over to the authorities.

Eh, it's just another conspiracy theory.

Any evidence thrown at the theory demonstrates that it is, in fact, a true theory as demonstrated by the incredibly believable (yet somehow flawed in a way some yahoo on the Internets can easily spot) evidence produced by the cabal that faked the "evidence".

That's the beauty of a completely bullshit theory. It can't be disproven because anything that proves it is obviously fake. If it's ignored, it's because there's no evidence that can disprove it OR YOU WOULD HAVE ALREADY RELEASED IT YOU RUNNING DOG PAWN OF THE [FILLINTHEBLANKLOUDLYHERE].

-Joe

Of course it's a conspiracy theory. It's not even a good one. The interesting part was supposed to be that 58% of Republicans actually disbelieve he's a citizen or at least aren't sure of it. It's not that some people doubt their president is an American citizen - of course some people are nuts - it's that literally the majority of Republicans seem to feel that way.

On the other hand, only 22% of voters are currently willing to self-identify as republicans, so it's 58% of 22% , which is like, what...12% or thereabouts? Still a frightening number, I guess, and not all inclusive since it doesn't count unaffiliated wingnuts.

Still something the GOP needs to be concerned about and try to put a stop to. They've got an uphill battle as it is without having to battle the tag of a majority lunatic party.
