I am a 22 year old female. I have been battling with severe nausea, acid reflux, GERD and Hiatal hernia for the last 7 years. I have had every test done in the book. Upper GI, Endoscopy, sonogram, blood work and even a vestibular battery test at the Cleveland Clinic.
My symptoms are strange and doctors always seem to be stumped by them.
I have a very sensitive stomach. Very often heavy exercise causes me to get severe stomach cramps and I bring up a thick white mucus. I also get incredibly nauseous when this happens.
If I don't get at least 6 hours of sleep I will have an upset stomach all day.
If I eat too early in the morning my stomach will be upset for hours.
Stress does play a role in my problems also.
I often feel pressure in my chest and esophagus.
My stool ranges in color, often it is a very light brown color.
I have tried every digestive drug on the market. Acid reducers such as prilosec work well but the acid reflux is not my main problem, it is the constant nausea.

I have tried adding more fiber to my diet, but when it comes down to it I know for a fact the problem is not my diet. I was having the same problems when I only ate crackers for weeks.
I have had MRI scans to check for tumors and none were found.
I have seen almost every doctor in the Western NY area and eventually couldn't afford heath insurance so I have stopped all tests.
I also tried experimenting with anti depressants and anti anxiety medications, but that also lead me nowhere.
I am not on any other medications that could be triggering these problems.
Please help, I am out of options.

Sorry you have been experiencing so many problems at such a young age. I guess acid reflux and GI problems are equal opportunity employers. It sounRAB like you have a series of complex issues. Even if you don't have insurance right now, it sounRAB like you have had a nuraber of tests done and, at least, they have not found anything that is life threatening. But it must be frustrating to not have a solid answer or course of treatment after seeing so many doctors and going through so many tests.

SounRAB like the PPI's help and you should probably stay on them for now. Available reseach shows that for the most part, the older, over the counter PPI works as well as the expensive prescription ones. You don't always have to take the newest most expensive PPI to feel relief.

For me, nausea typically comes as a precursor to heartburn. I feel nauseous and within hours then experience the heartburn. It is a sign the reflux is coming up and irritating my esophagus.

Besides taking your medicine (which sounRAB like you really need right now), make sure you don't let your stomach sit empty for very long. I used to avoid food for fear of heartburn and soon realized that not eating was not the answer. It is rather what I eat that makes my stomach produce too much acid and feel nausea and heartburn.

The vagal nerve runs through the stomach. You might have a very sensitive vagal nerve and that is why you react so much to things that do not irritate others' stomachs.

Read as much as you can through these forums and there may be others' stories and natural remedies that appeal to you like sipping chamomile tea, aloe and other liquiRAB that are soothing for the stomach. It may be a trial and error process for a while, but at least you have identified the role of stress in your condition and how much you need your rest and sleep. Maybe that is a good way to begin.

Hope you are feeling better very soon and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately, I have tried the techniques you mentioned before, so no. But thanks so much for the advise. I will be sure to keep the forum updated if I show any sort of progression.

Thanks again.
