Stereotypes you've hated

This one needs to go away,immediately....I like cats, and think it's a shame that they're often treated as "bad" or "evil",when they're just as good as pets as dogs (which is why I like Disney's the Aristocats, even though the villains totally lame, the cats are portrayed in a positive light)....Cats Don't Dance is another good movie with the lead hero and heroine being cats, though the villain is an evil little girl movie star named Darla Dimple (clearly modeled after real life child actress Shirley Temple)....

Agreed. This stereotype just ticks me off so much, and it really needs to stop. Everytime I see this stereotype happening on screen, I always cringe. I mean, come on, I'm a huge Godzilla nerd myself, but you'll never catch me wearing coke bottle glasses or pocket protectors.

I also hate the stereotypes involving dumb parents, especially the father. That really annoys me so much. Maybe I love The Secret Saturdays so much, mainly because of how the father, for once, doesn't act as dumb as any other cartoon fathers I've seen lately.

One stereotype I despise (particularly with the early Disney movies) is the fact that villains were always dressed in black or dark colors and heroes were usually seen primarily in white or red. Although it doesn't happen that often with cartoons these days, there are still blatant examples, especially with the superhero comics. One of the obviously worst examples was when Spider-Man had gotten the black costume. It was a very cool redesign when it debuted. But eventually, it brought out Peter's darker side in an attempt to make him evil. He was able to get rid of the alien symbiote, but once it found Eddie Brock, the two became the hateful, revenge-thirsty Venom. This eventually made its way to the more recent Spider-Man series, among several that symbolize that black represents evil and white or red symbolize good. There have been a few exceptions over the years, but it's not enough.

Here's one that never sat well with me:

Genius = Nerd, Dork, Social Outcast.

Since when is it a bad thing to be smart? There are some geniuses who are part of the "cool" crowd, you know.

Excuse me if that was said already.

I wouldn't say "hate", but I dislike the stereotype that's coming around that all Goths act depressingly and dark, etc. (Excluding Gwen from TDI, and Sam from Danny Phantom)

6Teen features plenty of interracial couples (Wyatt's Black, Nikki's Asian, Jonesy is apparently Latino, etc.) and there's constant emphasis on dating on the series...

Peter and Diane Maza from Gargoyles also are from different ethnic backgrounds, which plays a part in Elisa entering a relationship with Goliath.

Heck, one of the later stories will show Brooklyn mating with a female Gargoyle from Feudal Japan.
