STAR TREK Appreciation #1: In 2009 comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time

I really liked it. The whole cast was great and they brought a sense of fun/lightness to their roles. Peg, Pine and Quinto were the main standouts but I'm looking forward to seeing more of the rest of the crew in the sequels.

I'm sure I would have loved it if I knew more series history.

There's a new UK poster!

I don't know about anyone else but I'm still uber-excited for this film!! :slinkie: I saw the trailer for the first time in the cinema a couple of weeks ago when I went to see Watchmen, I totally geeked out :D

Do you mean the difference between human and Vulcan culture, or Jim's family? I'd really like to see more focus on the first one actually, with more of Spock and Uhura's relationship in general. Since it's pretty much out in the open now, I'd like to see what kinda of challenges or prejudices they faced from others, if any. And more of Spock struggling to retain both sides of his heritage.

Ah yeah, I know Chace, I'm a fan of GG too  That's fair enough! #2 is still pretty respectable.

I just found out it was Zoe's birthday yesterday, and she turned 31! She looks aeons younger than that! :thud:

I loved Krik/Spock but I wasn't happy with the Spock/Uhura relationship I don't know why. It just seemed weird to me.

I was sitting beside this guy that dressed like Spock the whole night. He glared at me when I laughed a few times but other than that best movie I've seen so far.

I really liked the bit of romance. I wasn't expecting it, which always makes it a nice little treat. :)

The look Kirk gave them while they were making out on the transporter was perfect. I laughed pretty hard at that.

And Kirk and Spock are adorable together.

I'm seeing it again tomorrow! Yay!

And Lennie, as a complete side-note, can I say that I adore Richard Armitage! Perhaps there's a place for him in the sequel? He'd make a spectacular villain.

Awesome! Enjoy it, I saw it for the 3rd time on Monday and it's still amazing :D

I'm doing alright thanks, finally on summer holidays from uni, so that's good! It's been a hard semester, I'm just glad to have free time now.

Thought I'd share this, it's a short spoof of the film. I love the movie but this is pretty funny

Simon Pegg is a total legend! Love him

Zach looks crazily like the original Spock, I did a double-take when I first saw the poster because I was sure it wasn't him

Thanks for the article too! Good read.

I saw Star Trek tonight and I thought it was awesome! Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine were great as Spock and Kirk.

I saw the movie yesterday, and since I haven't seen any of Star trek movies (I guess a couple of episode on TV ) I love it!

I went on cinema for Chris Pine hahaha..
Zachary do it great!, and Eric Bana.. OMG! I didn't realise that who was he 'till the credits... o_O and amazing make up

Oh I loves me some Xena, best TV show ever lol.

I couldn't remember his name but I knew I recognised him it took me a few seconds and then I was flaying my arms around and whisper/shouting "Its Caesar, Its Caesar!" and for good measure added "And Cupid! Caesar and Cupid from Xena!"

The birthing scene was interesting. You really say the difference in culture and between Spock's parents, what with Amanda being so mad that Sarek wasn't with her during delivery although the Vulcan male isn't meant to be present. True. But I guarantee it'll be discussed -- or, at very least mentioned -- in the upcoming films. Hopefully.

:sigh: Yeah. It's one of the main reasons I love Bones; his loyalty.

I can't wait to see more Chekov. Anton is just adorable. And I love that he's really Russian (hot).

Chace Crawford, who plays Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl. He's a good lookin man. But the editor said the main reason he got the top slot is because he's signed on to play Kevin Bacon's part in the remake of Footloose.

I watched it at the cinema today and I really enjoyed it. It was funnier than I thought it would be. And there was one or two other nice touches.

I know, he actually looks like the original Spock

But i am looking forward to Chris Pine's 'Kirk' as well

It is a pretty special film. Story was a bit off the wall, bit excellent acting and casting, those actors really filled the boots of their predecessors. Star Trek, we barely knew ye, now you're reborn into greatness (read: a new series of OK movies) ;)
