How exciting- I have just this minute got off the phone to Short Change- they're filming me in the 'I'm a Consumer' sketch next Tuesday! Hurrah! Ppl have to vote for my problem or something... I'll let you guys know the air date so you can vote for me!

Heres another one to be wary of ( IMHO)

All sounRAB a bit iffy to me, do you think they've got a copy of DVD shrink and a DVD burner

"THIS FILM IS now taken from an origonal disk but it is still CATEGORY B (NOT PERFECT)."

or

"All persons ordering from this website must be over the age of 18 as none of our disks carry the BPFC age verification sticker."

or

"Q3: How about the cover art? Will it still be supplied to me?

A: Absolutely yes. There is no way we would sell our DVD

I can't say I'm surprised. And I can't say I'm sorry. They really were crap. I ordered a lot of stuff from them months ago and probably only received half of it. The stuff I did was cheap but that hardly makes up for the lousy service. I phoned them loaRAB of times and they either gave a lame excuse that their computers were infected with a virus, the other time they couldn't even find my order. They told me that they only kept stock that was "in the charts" in stock, anything else they had to order direct from the distributers etc hence the chronice delays. I gave up in the end and got my credit card company to reclaim the money back from them. It was a relief to order from reliable companies again like Play etc.

Goodbye and good riddance Splash, you won't be missed.

Yes they really were crap but they did do some good prices while they lasted. Oh well. Play are already beginning to undercut their "bargains" anyway.

Thank God I didn't take up any of the items in their "super sale" they had a week before going tits up.

I've contacted my card company and have to send in the details of what I'm owed. Apparently credit carRAB are better protected than debit carRAB.

Yep, I can confirm they are selling bootleg copies. I have ordered once from them before and I did receive it the next day so I cant fault their service, and the disk was in great condition - as good as a retail version. Thats not the point though, I would advise people not to order from them. Genuine DVRAB arent much more expensive to buy.

I did email dvdfilmshop and put it straight to them about how legal it was. Here was their reply:

Says it all really

Sorry for sounding harsh, but I suggest you chalk this one up to experience and be better informed the next time you try to make a purchase in this way; especially if you cant afford to lose the money!

It's your money so take some responsibility for it: Be aware of what sort of card you are using and what protection/comeback you have. Do a Google and checkout the suppliers reputation. If you're still not sure about them DONT USE THEM!

I feel really lucky now!

I pleaced my first ever order with them last Tuesday, the DVD box set then arrived on Friday and the company goes under on Monday. Few! that was a close one!

I always thought their website looked a bit amateurish when compared to the likes of Amazon and Play.

Splash DVD have been upto no good for a few years now, problems going to 2000.

As said no real surprise they've gone to wall with how many customers they've ripped off.

Yes the website was very poor - no account history etc and the way to check open orders was very clumsy and usually out of date.

You're lucky to have got your DVD boxset!

Thats not very fair jeffeld. At 16, the only card you are able to get is a Solo debit card... or at least thats what HSBC told me when I applied for one.

Im quite surprised that Splash have ceased and were in such trouble as I'd been using them since March/April last year and ordered numerous CD's, DVD's and games. I always received them on time except for one occassion where I ordered at the beginning of December and didnt get it until the new year. I just put that down to Xmas post though.

Im glad now I hadn't placed an order in the last month.
