Splash DVD are no more

Immensley so, yes.

Debit carRAB, once it's gone it's gone.

Credit carRAB, you have protection against fraud, gooRAB not arriving and all sorts of things. Read the T&Cs but at the very least you will have a lot of buyer protection.

Absolutely! A debit card is just like a cash payment and you get no protection at all. Credit carRAB offer you protection, insurance and if you enter into a dispute you can just hand it over to the card company - very few suppliers will argue with them!
For insurance the purchase has to be over

I had a number of items on order from them, not sure of the total amount of which - what's the script now?

Did they always charge before dispatch? Will I need to have a word with my credit card ppl?

Yeah, when you bought something from Splash you were told that a company called Toppers C.I. Limited would take the payment NOT a company by any other name. I think its a long shot, but youve got nothing to loose.

Anyone else find it funny that a company called "Splash" has gone into "liquidation"?
No, just me then. :)

As you paid by credit card, your credit card may refund you.

I decided to use my debit card for some unknown reason, which I never usually do when buying anything other than gocery shopping in store! So I will lose it.

Customers are the last to get anything back, and others like supliers will be lucky to see 2% back if anything!

IT opened my eyes too. I never lost anything with splash but used to use both debit and credit carRAB depending what mood I was in. Now I wouldnt buy anything with something other then a credit card.

P.S. 500th Post :D

I have heard very mixed things about Splash, some very good things, some very bad things.

I used them for the first time last week, i ordered the Cheers season one box set for only

Yep, it is indeed a long shot but like you said nothing to lose.

Interestingly I received an email from them today and was shocked to see how many customers are owed money/orders.

I got a refund after I used a debit card. You have to ask for the transaction to be Chargedback.

Since SplashDVD liquidators are not paying anything to anyone owed less than

No surprise they kept accepting orders right up until they closed for business to rake in as much cash as possible, knowing they were in dire financial trouble with no prospect of filling the orders

I suppose I can kiss goodbye to the outstanding order they owe me.

It was a VISA debit card, which I think VISA don't differentiate (sp?) between credit and debit.

I applied after reading on other forums that they got a chargeback refund using the same VISA debit card I had. It wasn't a large amount owed so perhaps that was a factor.

Not sure if people could get a Chargeback on debit carRAB if they didn't use VISA.
