Spill Your Guts II: What You Think About MB Members' Taste In Music

Don't feel bad . I find you completely wrong on the meaningful lyrics part though, i'd say their lyrics are as meanful as other artists. Plus I like alot of other stuff, like glasvegas is one of my favourite artists ever, and have VERY meaningful lyrics ;):D

Talking HeaRAB are Art Punk/New Wave.
You just said you didn't?
Impatient.
Have you tried Josef K, I think you'd like Josef K, kinda a blend of Indie Pop and Post-Punk. Highly influental on most of the stuff you like.

Just saw this...

I had about the same reaction as the first listen: Good psychedelic rock, but I'd still rather listen to Sleepy Sun. The album revealed itself as a little more 3 dimensional than I initially thought though, which was great.

Also I just noticed, our Last.fm compatibility is off the heezy. Pretty strange considering you hate Radiohead, and besides TMV and Nick Drake, we don't share a lot of high listens with any artist. Also, add me.

Not too many people do like cake. They're something of a cult band. The problem with Cake, I'd guess, for the common person is that the disparity between one song and the next, the beatuy of what they do isn't persented in a nice package thats terribly obvious.

A lot comes from the instrumentation, but you have to value the sparse. This isn't a James Brown or Gun's & Roses. The song writing, coupled with McCrea's voice speaks to certain people. We get where he is and where he's coming from. I wouldnt try and suggest they're a megastar band, but they are very good at what they do, not, in small part, to their song writing either.

oh, sorry.
i just hate those metal fans that are completely ignorant of any other genre of music. i also hate the ones on youtube who talk like this:
"STOP LISTENING TO THIS CRAP LISTEN TO MOAR METALLICA LOL, GO AWAY HIPSTER POST ROCK SUCKS I H8 YOU MOAR METALLICA! LOOOOL!"
but i assume that they're sad little boys who have nothing to do but to hate on any genre of music but metal.

Hehe i'm used to not talking about music with my frienRAB. I have my forums and that's enough for me, i assume any semi-deep discussion about music i had with mates wouldn't be the best of debates anyway.

i love the animation in that movie :D

sorry to geek out, but....
wow, the normal mapping on that character is phenomenal! and the lighting... SOO GLOWY! and how the cloth simulations behave on the characters is beautiful!

i wonder how many polygons are involved in this, though. *shudder*

Haha, I wasn't trying to offend you guys or anything, you're awesome and I look up to you guys. It's just that it's a lot harder for us young people to feel nostalgic for music we listened to a few years ago.

No doubt you have waaay more musical knowledge than I, and also hear way more on a daily basis...

It's as bogus a label as indie is, and I was around in the 90s. It used to mean something (rock that wasn't mainstream, college rock basically) and then it became a mainstream genre and is still used to identify a lot of mainstream/top-40 radio stations. So it's completely meaningless now. Yeah we know what they mean, but it's no longer "alternative", it's mainstream. The "indie" label has suffered the exact same fate.

I don't like "everything" but I like some of every genre you posted, and then some.

whoa, ok yeah we like conor somewhat but he's no indie jesus

these are the indie jesuses (one is for his amazing talent and vocal abillity, the other is for his amazing beard and good songs):
