Spider-Man To Be Rebooted Without Original Cast or Director

It definitely showed that Raimi had no interest in Venom. I don't blame him either. It was clear his idea was to translate the tone of the early comics to the big screen and Venom just doesn't fit with that.

Talking of the re-boot, I guess one good thing about it would be if it is able to fit into the shared universe of The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man.

Maybe but Ghostbusters 3 will be (or at least should be) a completely different kind of movie to Spiderman, a comedy first and foremost. No way the big brash Transformers-style CGI teen flick the studio probably wants now. Though I already know I'm gonna enjoy Ghostbusters a lot more than whatever the Spiderman film turns out to be!

I thought that but to meet that date it would have to be in production by now - which it isn't not by a long shot. It looks like GB3 is coming out Christmas 2011 at the earliest.

Maybe MIB3 will be fast tracked??

Also read the new Spiderman film has only a budget of $80M which is very low - compared to the first films $140M nearly 10 years ago

WHAT?! I really like the first three Spiderman movies from Sam Raimi....The original cast was perfect, why change them?.....Zac Efron or Chace Crawford for the Spiderman role, is a big no, they're pretty boys!! not as good actors as Tobey Maguire is....Since its a re-boot, I hope they make it well and choose the cast carefully xo

read on ceefax the other day the director of 500 days of summer, marc webb is going to direct the next film and joseph gordon levitt will play spiderman not sure how true that is, no that much of a fan myself just thought i would share that
