SOUTH PARK EPISODE 214!

SYNOPSIS: "Cartman has a new protege. He's found someone who is smart, ambitious and willing to look the other way in order to get to the top.

Kyle brought in on the ground floor of Cartman's atest business venture, the Crack Baby Athletic Adventure."

How can you go wrong with crack babies... is something I never thought I'd say but hey this involves Cartman's buisness schemes and Cartman/Kyle rivarly probably so hopefully a good episode to make up for last week's (IMHO) rather mediocre one.

"Hello, Comedy Central ad sales. ASPCA? Yes, I'm watching it too. (Types on computer). Hang on I've got, hoo boy, 20 others on the line."

Slash from Guns and Roses = The new Santa Claus.

EDIT: Anyone else think that the end with EA Games is meant to be spoof how despised that company is when it comes to video game players (i.e. the NFL monopoly).

Wow.

This episode was a one big mess. Literally.

First its Cartman making this organization, then it gets bumbled up with "drama" between Kyle and Stan, then apperantly, something about Slash not existing? What was that?

I think I saw 4 different episodes rolled in one.

Okay did there REALLY need to be a Santa = Slash allegory in this episode? I guess it was a nice way of giving the crack babies a happy ending and a joke on how Slash plays at a lot of shows (in Matt and Trey's mind at least) but... I really didn't see much of a point to it. I did like Craig and Clyde's kind of more monotone reactions to it at first and maybe the Wunderslash song but it actually messing with the other boys and the whole 4th wall winking ending was just too much. It was like they said "hmmmm we're running out of material for the show what else can we do here" and then they gave us Santa Slash. Really killed a lot of the third act for me since I don't really like most of these allegories they try putting in. But hey even Jesus = Kyle for "Margateville" at least felt like it was a natural continuation from the plot. This just felt weird and awkard, even for South Park. I don't agree with Mesousa that it felt like four episodes in one (since the other plots did work) but it felt at least like two.

Still though I actually liked this episode a lot. I think it's because of how it explored a different side of the Cartman/Kyle rivarly. I mean to be fair Cartman, Stan Kyle and Kenny have done a lot of their own shady and dishonest buisness deals in the past. In "Wing" and even "The Tale Of Scrotie..." with them pinning blame on Butters and then later trying to claim they wrote the book. So I could actually see that though there are a lot of bad buisness deals that Cartman comes up with Kyle dosen't want a part of, there actually being a gray line. One where Kyle knows it's wrong yet tries to justify it because he's getting something from it. And actually trying to constantly appease to Stan who knows he's just trying to be a more ethical Cartman. So I really enjoyed that part of the episode. As well as the beginning with Terrance and Phillip, Sarach McLaclagh's ads making Kyle sad, Kyle insstanly following Cartman, Cartman showcasing Kyle the perks and Butters karoke, the idea of having a crack baby game on EA, Cartman talking to the Colorado head and asking how he gets away with his slavery idea (I heard from a friend this was based on the NCAA deals but I wouldn't really know anything about that) and reusing his "screw you guys I'm going home" catchphrase, and Cartman actually saying Kyle's idea of an orphanage was good. Honestly they really should of just kept it with Kyle and Cartman even if it meant not really having much of a role for Craig or Clyde. I would of prefrred that over having to put in a whole Slash plot out of nowhere. Still this episode wasn't bad but honestly it was boardering near greatness for me but the third act just sunk it to good. Which is a shame since this is probably still the best written episode of the season so far but it's not the funniest and has defintley one of the weaker endings.

Really really liked this one, mostly because it felt like classic South Park. This is the first episode in a long time to have actual biting satire (and not just recent news stories retold through a paper-thin allegory), enough actual jokes to fit a 30 minute timeslot, and funny interplay between the characters. More of this, please.

This one was just okay, IMO. The EA Sports stuff was spot on, I'm not a big sports fan, but the NCAA controversy wasn't lost on me. Ugh, and those super sad commercials. They show up on internet streams too, kills the mood during Gin-Tama...

Slash=Santa was really out there, I don't know why they came up with that one.

I actually enjoyed this episode. The jabs at EA were new to me, since I don't play sports games (and don't like sports in general).

Also college and high school sports teams are put into a whole new light now. I never noticed how they don't get paid.

Best episode I've seen in years. Reminded how South Park is able to juggle smart satire with brilliant absurdism better than any other show

Great/hilarious episode,

The highlights:
Terrance and Phillip, their fart jokes still crack me up, hahahahaha.
The crack babies look SO CUTE next to the baby calves/the evil Woodland Christmas Critters, the poor things.
Another Kyle vs. Eric feud plot, sweet.
Butters freaking out from Kyle's entrance, hahahahaha.
Eric's crazy business scheme doing a Crack Baby Athetic Association for the crack babies.
It's a nice touch showing a different side on Kyle/Eric's rivalry.
The EA Sports bashing.
Butters singing Boom Boom Pow, hahahahaha:p:D.
Nice to see Timmy/Jason.
Kyle getting the job from Eric going along with his crazy plan.
The pregnant belly being shown bare is so disgusting.
Kyle sounding like Eric Cartman, hahahahaha.
Eric's selfishness and slavery for the crack babies.
Eric's funny disguise/accent.
Eric using his favorite funny catchphrase whenever he leaves:anime::D.
Slash=The New Santa Clause, hilarious/awesome, hahahahaha:anime::D.
Stan knowing about Slash before the other boys was priceless.
The evil EA Sports company owner was funny owning the boys, but it's cool to see some villains winning though.
Kyle's orphanage created by Slash, he is real!!!!!

This is my favorite episode of the season so far. Also, anybody notice how nasty this season has been compared to others? Unlike those episodes (HUMAN CENTiPAD, T.M.I.) this episode didn't just take refuge in its vulgarity and genuinely made me laugh. One good thing about it was it had a clear message that was not buried by the laughs. Those scholar athletes do deserve some money, but I never thought about it too much until this episode. Also, the entire premise of crack-babies playing basketball (or soccer, or whatever) was more of a jumping board for the several plot threads launched instead of compromising the entire plot. I don't care what people say, Slash = Santa Claus was the funniest thing in the episode. It was unexpected, sure, but sometimes that's where the best laughs come from.

9.1 - A-

I liked this one....

Kyle actually going along with Cartman's plan was different, and I loved how Stan pointed out that Kyle ended up acting something like Cartman, complete with the rationalization...

Butters singing The Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow" made me laugh alot...I think it's just his voice that does it....

Cartman's "slave owner" persona was also funny....

I have to admit I enjoyed the whole Slash = imaginary figure like Santa Claus thing (complete with the reveal that he may be real after all)...It was bizarre, yes, but it's classic South Park.....
