South Park "Crack Baby Athletic Association" Talkback (Spoilers)

Neo Ultra Mike, I'm not sure if you're aware or not, but there is a talkback image available for South Park:

To be honest, I don't really understand what they were even making fun of in this episode. Why is Slash Santa Claus? And why are they making EA Sports out to be the bad guys when it comes to NCAA athletes not getting paid. It's the NCAA that's the evil dictatorship, not EA Sports.

That's because the bit with EA Sports is spoofing how many people consider Electronic Arts to be the "evil empire" of video game companies, more specifically how the company was sued a number of former NCAA football players for using their image without receiving compensation for it.

Just mix some bacon strips into the pancake mix, or pour it on the pan as usual. Probably tastes like pants, but certainly not out of the question.

Just to give an example of EA tyranny. Some years ago, the UFC attempted to make a deal with EA Sports to make a UFC game. EA turned down the UFC. UFC eventually a new game developed by THQ which was a huge hit. Right after that, EA announces the EA MMA game using Strikeforce and Japanese branded MMA fighters when they refused to do business with the premiere MMA brand. The EA MMA game bombed though, so basically UFC had the last laugh.

But it is sort of lame that EA turned down the UFC and ended up making their own MMA game instead of licensing the premiere and most popular MMA brand. No one wants to buy an EA MMA game, they want to buy a UFC game.

This episode got a lot of laughs from me. Kyle acting like Cartman but justifying it in his own way, and Stan just pointing it out. Cartman's disguise and accent were great, too.

Some of you may've found the Slash thing to be out of place, but I enjoyed it. Better than if it was the A plot. "One of our parents" indeed...

Lol, Peter Moore referenced this episode at Microsoft's E3 press conference today. "You know that old EA slogan, Go...maybe I shouldn't say it...." Something to the gist of that. Love that he's got a great sense of humor about it, one of my favorite big name gaming execs.
